McFarlane DC Multiverse

I'm still mad about not ever finding Jade, James Gordon or Silver Age Bizarro at Walmart. Another member of this forum hooked me up with Jade, but Gordon continues to be elusive. Not really worried about Bizarro. Again, not really exclusive to Walmart because I know that those were also supposed to have been somewhat available from Gamestop and McFarlane Toy Store as well, but I didn't have any luck with those places either.
 
It's based on whether your local selected store has it or not. I've been through this with them a few times. I'll order it for shipping and they cancel if your local store doesn't have it. It's very annoying. What's worse is the local store will drop off a "replacement product" without asking and then you have to return it. In general I've found that they'll try to replace a specific figure with just any McFarlane DC Multiverse figure that the order picker finds on the shelf. It gets old fast. I think the last time I had an order for "shipping" for one each of Bizarro, Jade and Gordon and the local store had an employee drop off 2 Knightmare Batmans and an Armored Green Lantern that I returned to the store the next day for a refund. Just absolutely pointless. Customer service sent someone back while I was doing my return to try to find what I actually ordered and said they didn't have it.

No, it wasn't that bad of move. I also had a pre-order in for Henshaw Cyborg Supes at a GameStop store near me, and then MTS put them back up, so I ordered one from there as well. My figure showed up from MTS, but GameStop never got the P.O. in. I went by there a week or so ago, and asked about it and the guy was like, "Yeah, you'll never get that." So I asked for my $5 deposit back, but they couldn't figure out to do it and I ended up having to take a gift card. -sigh-

So, I don't think you made a mistake by cancelling. You would have likely never gotten it anyway.

Mr. Miracle and Sandman came today. I cannot begin to tell you how cool Sandman is. And Mr. Miracle is nearly perfect. Perfect would’ve been a fabric cape. He’s still pretty damn cool.

When ordering store pickup items, there is usually an option to not allow substitutions. The shopper likely couldn't find Gordon, and their handheld will generally prompts them to substitute the item unless you opted for no subs.

I did take a picture but when I took Alfred's head off, the ball part is in his head making his neck hollow. Luthor is the other way around since he comes with alternate heads. I was able to sit the Luthor head on Alfred's neck. I hope the picture shows, I haven't done this before.

I just forgot to do it. I always try and remember to opt for no substitutions, but I totally forgot. After having Wal-Mart cancel on me twice, I just bought Jim and Year One Batman on Ebay. I paid about $30 more than I would have had I found them at stores, but I never have and now I don't have to look.

Worth it :)
 
I went to Wal-Mart today and figured since I have now purchased year one Jim Gordon and Batman on Ebay that I'd find them. I didn't, but I did find 2.0 Batwing and Troika Batman. So, I picked those up.

I'd always thought I wasn't going to buy the Troika Batman. But seeing it in person, it just looks really cool.
 
I stopped at my local Target today. The Page Punchers wonder Woman figures that were there the other day are gone and now there are 2 Page Puncher Superboy figures. Still no platinum figures.

I also stopped at Walmart and they had Troika Batman, Batwing & AzBat.
 
Grim Knight and Killer Croc two pack spotted on clearance in my area for half off. "in my area" is actually a store that is a bit outside of the distance I want to drive but hopefully I spot some closet to me. Love that Croc.

Yes, I've been through this with Walmart multiple times. I was able to put an order if for Gordon and SA Bizarro a couple of days ago but I've already gotten two "this order has been delayed message" which is usually followed shortly by this order has been canceled. This is probably the 5th or 6th time that I've been through this with Walmart on these specific figures. It's usually because the local store shows inventory but then they can't find them. It's never really about being "shipped" from a warehouse. The whole thing is infinitely frustrating.
 
If I ever see anything “in stock” at Wal Mart, I usually just go there if possible. But only if I see it on their app. Brickseek is utterly useless.
 
Yeah Walmart makes you jump through the most hoops possible when you just want to know if your local stores have the item in question. I will never understand why the "Pickup" option disappears as soon as a 3rd Party Seller lists an item. I want to buy it in store at MSRP. I do not want to pay the reseller markup. Now the only option is to head to the store and ask them to look up the item on their handhelds....

More complicated than it has to be.
