McFarlane DC Multiverse

I do so love being back in the Midwest to visit family, because there's actually a decent chance of me finding stuff. I finally managed to stumble upon the theatrical edition Superman and Krypto (which I have to pretend I don't know about since it's being held for my birthday tomorrow) and a Mr. Terrific. They actually had a couple Terrifics, and after seeing an awesome custom someone did of Guy Gardner using the Terrific body, I'm quite tempted to go back and see if they still have another, but I know mine wouldn't look anywhere near as good as theirs. 😅

Visiting my parents is the one and only time I ever saw the TDKR Catwoman in person. So it's good to go home! :)

That's also when I found the Batpod and thought it looked cool but couldn't get it across the country, so I bought it and hid it in my "room" and then when I finally found one where I live, my mom returned that one for me. I think she enjoyed that. ;)

The new SDCC EQL came out today…minus the purple UCC Beast Boy.

Now I’m officially not worried about it anymore.

Because you think he'll be available in another capacity?

Which is his more-correct outfit color? I want this version of the character but I have zero desire to jump through McHoops to get it.

Nope. I don’t think there is another avenue for it to come out. This is an ebay reaming waiting to happen.

The original white and red is more prominent. I just tend to collect Titans/Young Justice members. Purple suit is cool, but it’s definitely a want, not a need.

Bopped into a Target between my matinee and an evening play reading, and lo and behold there was regular Kite Man and platinum Metron. They are both frigging great. I love the thumbs-up on KM.

Random thing the new Superman film pushed me to do - I was so desperate for DC stuff after I saw it, after DC had been my distant second favorite comic book world, that I just went nuts with clearance figures I'd never picked up from BBTS just to have more DC in my life. There were a bunch of like 11 dollar figures I'd had in my cart for a year I just added to my POL and shipped (I had one lonely expensive import in the POL and was like... SURE! Why not.)

Nothing crazy, but I always liked the unmasked Batwoman Beyond; wanted to grab an unmasked Battinson before it disappared forever; was curious about roller-Harley; figured the movie Cyclone is the only one we'll ever get; and got a Zod for Superman to punch. Not bad for like dollars total for the lot of 'em. None of them are super impressive figures but they add some flavor. (I will say Batwoman Beyond's face sculpt is one of McF's better unmasked women faces in the line.)

I pre ordered Collector's Edition Deathstroke. He was who I wanted most since I mainly collect Batman related stuff. But I would have pre ordered Mirro Master if BBTS had him.

Glad that the "no guns" embargo is now over. We CAN say it's over now, right? Deathstroke has like four big guns. He looks nice but I wish he had some sculpted scale mail.

Found another Platinum Darkstar. One for Ferrin Colos, one for John Stewart. Still no Platinum Metron. I don’t think that case pack has hit this side of the country yet. No Platinum Kite Man either.

I’d just like to add that Darkstar is a great figure. Whether you get the regular army builder version or the Platinum Stewart or Ferrin Colos, I’d recommend him. I recall the original Darkstar comic as being a lot of fun. For a while. If memory serves, I dropped it along with a lot of other DC titles in the early/mid 90’s in favor of the burgeoning indie comics scene back then. Probably not my best decision as I did miss out on a lot of cool DC stuff from that era. And even though Darkstars aren’t exactly prominent in the current DCU, still a cool figure.
