McFarlane DC Multiverse

Of course Nerdzoic announced the movie Terrific and #4 two days after my impatient ass spent a little extra on Mercari for them.

Ah well, I don't collect much McFarlane DC. I didn't know. Lesson learned.

Missed the Kite-Man pre-order before it sold out. Two weeks in a row that Target has screwed me. Missed Psylocke/Thanos last week and Kite-Man this week. I freaking hate store exclusives. I also know that my local store will never stock these. I'll probably skip Psylocke/Thanos but I'll have to pay double retail for Kite-Man on ebay at some point just like I did for Geo-Force and Warbird. He's a must have for me.

I honestly didn't think Kite-Man was that popular enough to sellout. I was online Target at around 9:09 this morning and decided to grab one.
I also had to make an early run to Walmart and decided to check the collector shelves. I was surprised to find Bizarro, both of Gordon, both of Year One Batman, Jade, Cyborg Superman, Powergirl and both of The Deviant, (Spawn Rat City). I grabbed all but the Platinum Gordon and Powergirl.

It's got to be less Kite Man, more just "exclusive" that drives the knee jerk buyers and resellers.

Tom King brought Kite-Man back to prominence in his Batman run. The KM was a breakout star in the Harley/Ivy cartoon getting his own spinoff.

I was in and out with KM pretty quickly on the Target app. Which is astonishing with the internet issues I was having this morning. Unless I was on WiFi. I’d already left for work and it was really spotty for some reason. Still kinda is.

I know every region is different, but I’ve honestly not had much difficulty with the Target Gold Labels. Whether we could preorder or not. Wal Mart is a different story. But Target Gold Labels that are Collectors Editions are different. I had one hellova time with Geo Force. Not sure if Kite Man will follow this pattern or not. But I’m not at all worried about Mr. Miracle or Sandman. Less so with MM. Sandman has spiked in popularity of late. But that in itself gives me a warm fuzzy feeling.

Just a reminder, EE has two McFarlane listings for next week for preorder. Tuesday and Thursday. No idea what they are, so look for some announcements over the weekend.

Jumped on at 5:59 pacific and refreshed until the "summer geekout" stuff popped up. Got Kite Man ordered, along with some BTAS stuff. I typically find it easy enough to order Target exclusives when they go up at the correctly advertised time (looking at you, Psy/Thanos).

'Battle Damaged' Superman is pretty fun. He doesn't blow you away with originality, but the sculpt in hand is pretty good & I like his paint job. Review here if anyone is interested:

Alex Chen has a couple more rumors. One old, one new.

*Seems like the Black Flash 3-pack is back on.

*Extant. Interesting.

That black, gold, and red Az-Bat, man. I don't remember that specific color scheme from the actual comics, as far as I know that was only done for the old figure from the Legends of the Dark Knight Collection from the 90s. Well my brother and I had that figure, so there's a big nostalgia factor for this one, comic accurate or not. Plus, McFarlane did a darn good buck for that Az-Bat. This one's probably a purchase. And if that exact color scheme WAS in some comic somewhere please let me know. I just reread the whole Knigfall/Knightquest epic last summer and I don't remember seeing it.

I received Ultraman and Luthor from MTS today. 52 Superman, Orange suit Batman and Final suit Riddler from ebay and from Toy Snowman battle damaged Superman, Ultraman and regular carded Superman. I have Metamorpho shipping from Gamestop and deluxe Superman from Gamestop is awaiting stock. If McFarlane don't do a Guy Gardner and Hawkgirl then I don't know what to say about that. What body is Superman using in the set with Godzilla. I first thought it was the first ever Superman body then I saw the double elbows and then thought the Page Punchers but that body has details from what I remember.

I was on Amazon earlier in the week and saw a Sportsmaster figure for $31 and free shipping from a third party seller. The price wasn't too bad since I never found the figure in the wild. I took a chance and it was delivered today. After I bought it, the price went back up to $43.

I saw Metamprpho today on an endcap of Superman stuff. It came out looking really nice. This is one of those movie figures that could pass in a comic display.
