Mattel MOTU Chronicles Movie Figures

I might still pick up evil lyn. I kinda like the look from this movie even if that face sculpt is eugh .

Those actually look really good. I hope 5.5" leans a little big so they fit with 1:12 movie figures. Double elbows on Evil Lyn are welcome but that likeness does not do the lovely Allison Brie justice.
That’s supposed to be Allison Brie?

Looks like she smelled a fart

These have definitely been confirmed as Masterverse style figures. There was a read up I saw somewhere from the Mattel panel, I believe Facebook, and they are indeed the Masterverse scale and style. But I mean, yeah, you can tell just by looking at them. JayC gets a lot of intel and still gets so much wrong so often lol.

The figures look good honestly. And I think He-Man looks great. I wish the actor looked as big as the toy. I think the actor looks right as He-Man, but he is a bit small build and muscle wise. The figure however looks freakin' jacked.

I don't know if I need Movie toys, but I do like the look of the film, and I do like the look of these toys. Magic 8 Ball says "Yeah, you know you are buying these jackass, so stop acting like you aren't. You're embarrassing yourself."

Dang, Mattel is doing import-style joints with these? And they look to actually have some paint on them too! I'm definitely on for a He-man and Skeletor now, perphaps Teela too. If this is what Mattel is cooking up for the DC collectors license, we may be eating well soon enough!

I have a little bit of hope the waist is not just a swivel… but like I’m 99% sure it is looking at the posing.

Okay, hold up. Now it is being said that these ARE NOT Masterverse figures. Being reported by Pixel Dan who had someone report everything to him from Mattel's panel, these figures are NOT Masterverse size apparently. They are not Origins either.

Origins are around 5.5", and Masterverse are around 7". It is being said that while these have articulation like Masterverse, these Chronicle figures are closer to 6" in height.

So, maybe they are more the size of the 200X Origins figures, but made to articulate, move, and feel more like Masterverse. I don't know. But that is what Pixel Dan is reporting from his guy at the Germany Toy Fair. 6" height for the Chronicles figures. They are more like Marvel Legends size.

And this makes you wonder, is that just for the Movie line of adult collector figures, or will Mattel be making Classic non movie figures in this Chronicles line as well, doing away with the larger 7" Masterverse line? Who knows.

I do believe there will still be a kids aimed MOTU Movie line that should be in the 5.5" size, much like the vintage toys and regular Origins figures.

It's Ace from Ramen Toy who was sending PD all the info, so I would assume he could tell the difference between scales since he actually makes figures.

They look nice enough, and I MIGHT be tempted by He-Man and a Skeletor, but not entirely sold yet.

I'd be MORE excited if these were a little over 6", as I would absolutely put them with stuff like Marvel Legends and be VERY happy. Theoretically, the 7" Masterverse figures should scale well with Savage Crucible, but the style of the figures is so divergent that they kind of look shit together.

This makes me wonder if Mattel is looking to normalize their collector lines around 6inch scale like Hasbro? Link MotU and DC in something of a “house style”?

Maybe these ARE 5.5" scale, but because these characters are so huge the figures end up being 6.5" tall. I would still buy them, whatever the scale, since these honestly surprised me with how good they look, but if they were the standard 1/12 scale they would be even better.
