Mattel MOTU Chronicles Movie Figures

Remember how I was saying I got a free ticket to see MotU in the city from Club Grayskull, and I didn’t want to go? Well I’m here, and I walked past Nicholas Galitzine and Allison Brie in the lobby. I’m third row, which will suck for the movie, but I’m thinking I’ll be pretty close to seeing any stars if they’re talking before or after the show.

The movie was fun. Had the feel of GotG meets LotR. So basically Thor: Ragnarok. Lots of juvenile humor, tongue in cheek references. But it has its own lore. Certainly not like the existing media I’m familiar with.

Also, these women are so hot.

There were a couple post credit scenes, but I did not sit through the full credits as I had to pee. But I don’t think the stars came out again after the movie either because Morena Baccarin was outside the men’s room with what were probably her children.

Sounds very promising! I'm seeing it Wednesday. As long as it's entertaining, that's about all I can ask for.

Without spoiling anything, would you say that all the characters- small, side characters included- got at least a little standout moment each? Or was anyone just there for set dressing?

I think most characters had their moment. But I can think of some who got did dirty.

Far right - I think it was a Mattel exec, first name Jan (pronounced Yahn)
Next to him - Nicholas Galitzine

Geez the flash/lights got them at the wrong time/angle. They look like they could be zombies in The Walking Dead or evil minions of Skeletor. 😜
 
All the reviews are sounding really promising. Seen a couple comparisons to Ragnarok, and many of the reviews mentioning how the Manosphere is gonna hate it, so color me intrigued! Earnest optimism mixed with quippy camp is a tough balance to nail, but I love it when they do. There's something to be said for a movie that, if nothing else, just makes you feel good to watch it.
 
Picked up the “more teeth” version of Skeletor today. If you haven’t seen the difference, he has more teeth in the back of his mouth. The other head is missing molars. I swapped the heads already in this pic:

My understanding is that the 'more teeth' head comes on a body that's also a totally different color blue.
