Mattel Kids/Core MOTU Movie Line and Products

Castle Grayskull/Snake Mountain went up for PO at Walmart. Once again succumbing to my toxic trait, I POed something I have no space for. But I think they'll make nice little display facades for the Chronicles figures. And the sword altar might look cool with the Chronicles scale too. Not holding my breath for the bone throne though.
 
Ooooohhhh.....wave 4 looks pretty good, especially Teela whose face looks 100% better this time around. Too bad she had that hairstyle for just a few seconds in the movie, but I will definitely hold out for this one.

Ram Man and Tri Klops both look great too. Look at the range of options you can get Tri Klops holing that gun. On a $10 figure. There are $30 Marvel Legends that can't do that. This line.......man......

I keep going back and forth over going "all in" on the kids' line or Chronicles. The appeal for the kids' line is the price and the fact that they scale with the vintage stuff (by that I mean I can easily display them with my vintage Castle Grayskull). But, there are some "misses", for the kids' line, IMO. Beast Man is a bit "meh". Now that I think about it, being that he's so tall in the movie, could the Chronicles Beast Man be fudged into this line? I also don't know how deep we will get with the kids' line before it's done. If I go in on this, I'd want Trap Jaw and Evil Lynn for sure, maybe Fisto and Sorceress too. Decisions.
 
While I'm sure it's less screen accurate because of this, I actually think the Core Trike looks BETTER than the Chronicles one because it doesn't have that hideous and way too real world military patterning on the pants.
 
That V.2 Skeletor is actually translucent for is body, isn't he? Am I seeing that right? Did they go Scareglow on Skeletor? Did they go full Glow on the Tor?

This Wave is already up for pre order on BBTS if anyone wants it. It's been up since the first big release of pre orders for the movie merch.

I actually got Wave 3 in yesterday. Man At Arms is pretty much identical to the Amazon 4 Pack. Maybe even completely identical. But this He-Man with the blue harness and the Conan like war paint is a lot of fun.
 
FYI - Looks like Kohl's has these in store. Toys don't work for their % off discounts, but you can use Kohl's cash on them. And they seem to be priced at normal MSRP. My local store had the second wave, so Skelknight, Skeletor, and Mekanek.

I did this because you said to do so.

We adult collectors on our high horses like to turn up our nose at play features, and it's true, they have ruined many a good figure. But every so often a good play feature comes along and makes the toy a delight. I loved the 90's Toybiz Cyclops with the light up optic blast. The most recent figure I bought with a play feature was like two years ago, Bowser for the Mario Movie, who VAPED! Awesome! Yeah, this Battle Cat is fun.

I ordered a Skele Knight from amazon and got the darker version which I think looks a bit cooler. And BBTS has preorders back up for wave 4, so I POed a Teela and a wave 3 Duncan. I hope they do Evil Lynn for this line too.
 
Trap Jaw is getting a basic Kids Core line figure. He had the Deluxe figure that had the action feature. But he is apparently getting a regular figure without the action feature.

It is rumored that the figures in the Wave with him are Evil Lyn and Glow in the Dark He-Man.
