I wanted to make this separate thread so we could talk about the kids Core line and other kids related movie merch from Mattel for the Masters of the Universe Motion Picture. All of these toys like the figures at the $10 price point, the Skeletor Mask, Power Sword, etc could start showing up any time, with an official release date of April 25th.

I already pre ordered the 4 Pack with exclusive Goat Man on Amazon, as well as the Amazon Exclusive He-Man and Skysled. And I actually got two of those. Because I thought, "what if I want a movie Skysled for Teela or Man At Arms?"

At $25 for a Skysled and He-Man figure, I thought screw it, I'll get 2. I also pre ordered the Electronic Power Sword from BBTS.

But any news, finds, or questions for the Kids MOTU Movie figures and products from Mattel can all go here, so we don't have to confuse things on the Chronicles or Origins threads.

I'm seeing solicits for Core scale DC figures too. Seems like a unifying scale for all of their licenses. I imagine TMNT will make it out that way too. Nice to see them trying to do a universal scale. I hope this is a goal for their collector lines too.

I just wanted to share this here, because it reminded me of seeing MOTU commercials for toys when I was a kid. But Mattel has let out a short little commercial for the upcoming Movie Core line figures over on YouTube.

A Teela -basic- figure still being able to pull off a two-handed sword pose is 100% aimed directly at adults. Like 'look, see, even our KIDS toys are good now.'

So not really kids related per se, but here are a couple vids from Pixel Dan and GeekDadLife about the popcorn buckets and related merchandise. It looks like MOTU fans will be eating well at the movie this year. They both cover the same items for the most part with only a few differences:

I saw over on ToyHabits YouTube channel they were showing pics of a new figure for the kids line. It was one of the deluxe, action feature figures and it was of Roboto, called "Combat Ready Roboto." And I guess it's coming to Mattel Creations on April 25th with all the other Movie Merch releases. So, it will probably be everywhere else that day too like BBTS and EE, as well as brick-and-mortar retail. Because it doesn't say it's Mattel Creations exclusive or anything.

He has a translucent chest piece so you can see inside it looks like, much like all other versions of Roboto. And has an action feature that moves his arms up and down, one of which has a canon/blaster on the end.

So, add Roboto to the list of characters from this movie we are getting in the Kids Core line.

Here are pics of Roboto that are now on toynewsi

Gotta say, this one looks kind of bland, even for a big robot with a canon hand. But still, it's just part of the Kids line. It is Deluxe though, so $17 instead of $10

Completely divorced from it being part of the kids line - I just don't like that redesign of Roboto. Granted, I'm not a huge fan to begin with. But I never like it when they lean so hard into making him less human-looking in proportions/shape. And they always feel the need to make him bigger because.. I dunno.. robot big! Or something. This version of Roboto sucks just as much as the 200x version of Roboto.

I dislike this Roboto, but mostly because I dislike a large majority of modern scifi design.

I love MYP 200X Roboto in his own right, just not as Roboto. 4H 200X Roboto is perfect, though.
