Mattel DC Figures

This is SUCH a resentment of mine because then they ACTUALLY MADE MORE ACCURATE PARTS and used them for Orange Lantern Lex and then NEVER FUCKING REPAINTED IT IN NORMAL COLORS.

Oh wow, you're right. I didn't pay much attention to that figure at all, but that would've been an easy addition to that one late-line Super Powers wave.

OK, I have a question. Scale wise, would this new Robin fit in with the Knightfall Batman body from McFarlane? I know for a lot of people the aesthetics wouldn’t match, but I’d like to get a Robin to go with him and McFarlane‘s all seem to be fairly large.

I saw that Batman in person today and was super tempted, but I'm gonna hold off until I see what the collector line looks like. I'm pretty sure there will be plenty of Batmans (Batmen?) produced. I'm gonna cherrypick as of now. I'm really hoping wave 1 has at least one deep cut, like Captain Marvel Jr. (Original red cape), Killer Moth or Ma Hunkle.

Here you go, dHunter's Reviews at 15:13 does a comparison with a Batman who uses the Knightfall body. This is as close to actual Knightfall Batman I could find from reviewers.

Gotta say, I wasn't previously curious how that Robin compared size-wise to a glass of orange juice, but now I know. 😅 Ah, dhunter.

Watched the video purely due to your comment and was not disappointed.

Got a full belly laugh, then was equally as impressed when he just moved past that comparison right to the next one like it perfectly fit.

Well played….

The Collector Line should focus on the future of DC. I'm talking figures from the 30th & 31st Century. Legion of Super-Heroes, Legion of Super-Villains, Legion of Substitute-Heroes, Wanders, Fatal Five, Legion Cruiser, Legion Clubhouse, etc.
we better get Proty and Proty II

I could easily just collect the Legion figures and the Fourth World and be perfectly content.

Seems like there's quite an appetite for these early Mattel figures. My local Target had a bunch of Batman and Flash figures last week, but I went in today and they're all gone. It will be interesting to see if the demand remains high after this initial wave as I assume a lot of purchases are the curiosity kind.

Seems to be a lot of goodwill towards them for sure, and much of it comes from the price point and the “collector’s line will be even better!” school of thought right now. Mattel just has to live up to that. Feeling optimistic that they’ll follow through.

I absolutely love this idea. An entire figure line dedicated to alternate futures, parallel universes, and divergent timelines. DC has plenty. The Multiverse itself, Hypertime, Elseworlds, and all of the old Imaginary Stories. Comics only please. Berlanti made a mess on TV. Gunn remains unproven on the subject.

*Inclusive of the Absolutes. Obviously.
