Masters of the Universe: Origins


Pixel Dan goes through the Mattel MOTU Preview Night, and he talks to someone at Mattel who says the 200X figures are a little bigger than Cartoon Collection Origins. They are a "Spiritual Successor" to Origins and Origins Cartoon Collection. he said they stand up much straighter, are stylized, and more at the 6" scale than 5.5".

I bet we get a stylized 200X Castle Grayskull. Here's hoping.
 
I hope the "successor" part doesn't mean they're done with Cartoon Collection. It's the only MOTU line I'm collecting due to my love for the Filmation cartoon and I'd be pretty sad if it's over.

That Sting-Or looks amazing!!!!!!!! Talk about a great addition to the lore. Love that we are getting Dragstor as well with a possible working rip-it feature?

Glad they went with the more cartoon accurate look for 200X. I was wondering how they would make it work with Origins' design, but this was the smarter choice. They look great, but I am okay with passing on them thanks to the price of figures now (and lack of regular retail availability in Canada).

That Castle Grayskull looks neat, but I already have one along with the Mysteries Of Grayskull set. So I am good on that front. That mat would be nice to have but if not no big deal. I imagine this will get discounted by Amazon at some point because I don't know that there is enough interest in another Castle Grayskull after the first release flooded the market.

I wonder what is in that blacked out window? Revamped Snake Lair?
 
I legitimately love the new Castle Grayskull, but I also have abso-fucking-lutely nowhere to put ANOTHER Castle Grayskull, along with every other big footprint toy I own or will own in the near future.
 
Another Castle Grayskull would definitely be superfluous in my collection. That’s a pass for me.

Didn’t see Origins Dragstor, interesting that he’s being released in two formats. This one looks fine but I like the liberties they took for Masterverse.

Come on though, where’s Two-Bad?

I saw someone on Facebook somewhere who asked them and they said Filmation would still be sprinkled in but wouldn't be the focus.

That makes me so sad. There are so many PoP characters they still have to make.
 
Those 200x figures have me SO excited. I've been meaning to rewatch the show with my son, having new figures coming out just amped it up even more.
 
Yeah I am due a rewatch too. I love that they showed so many at once! I like seeing a bold commitment to a line right out of the gate.

I reeeeeaaaaaallllly want to see an Origins Swift Wind revealed for the sake of my unicorn-loving 8 year old.

The only Castle Greyskull I'll ever own is my childhood vintage version. It's just got that iconic presence about it. I have no problem populating it with the modern Origins figures.
