Masters of the Universe: Masterverse

I have Ninjor and Terror Claws POed at Amazon. She-Ra at Walmart. But seeing these posts had me cave at BBTS for a She-Ra order. Still a PO, but hopefully will fill soon.

I got the She-Ra and Terror Claws e-mail too. I hate that Ninjor isn't processing with them. I want him the most. Hopefully he isn't far behind. It's funny, I was just watching reviews for this wave on YouTube last night hoping they'd arrive at BBTS soon.

Speaking of NE Mossman, I was reading cmoney's post and thinking, just as the moment I saw them write, "I hope he's not flocked" I read it as "I hope he's flocked" because that's what I want.

I imagine he won't be, and I'll likely buy him either way, but dang I'd love a big flocked Masterverse figure! It will be divisive either way. I don't really see it happening with all the articulation points, but Mattel sometimes brings surprises.

Oh, I am firmly in the anti flocked camp. That stiffbebentually falls off anyway... best to kust skip it.

I think I'd be okay either way. On one hand Moss Man feels like he should be flocked because it's tradition but on the other hand the first Masterverse Moss Man was cool without it too. I'm flocking Switzerland.

I got the Ninjor e-mail too. I'm glad, he was the one I wanted most from this Wave.

As far as Moss Man, I feel in my heart he should be flocked. It's what I know. It's what I'm conditioned to. But I think I'd prefer this Moss Man to not be flocked. Just a big ass, well sculpted, non-flocked New Eternia Moss Man.

But if it's flocked, I'll giggle and buy it anyways.

I suppose if he's a really detailed NE Moss Man with cool gear and accessories I'd want it without flocking. When I'm thinking flocking, I'm imagining something very similar to the Vintage releases, a real simple figure that could use the gimmick.

Ya know, sometimes I think about not collecting the new Vintage Collection in the Masterverse line. I have He-Man, Skeletor, and Zodac. And I have Faker pre ordered. But one, I hate that they seem to be Wal-Mart exclusive, and two, I already have SO MANY He-Man figures in their traditional looks be it from the 80's line, Classics, Origins, etc.

What I like most about Masterverse is the New Eternia stuff. I don't know. I don't know if I have the will power not to collect the vintage collection lol.

But I toy with the notion from time to time.

I thought about not collecting them too but now here I am a He-Man, Skeletor, and Zodac deep. What's one more line of MOTU?

I guess that's how I feel two. Being that He-Man and She-Ra were the first cartoons and toy lines I loved, and still to this day I consider my favorite brand or property to collect, it almost feels like I am letting down myself or the Universe if I DONT collect a He-Man line.

And even though I love Star Wars, Marvel, TMNT, etc. Whenever I get close to nixing something MOTU from the current day buying, I always say to myself "how can you keep buying these things and not be buying that MOTU Merch? What kind of traitorous bitch are you?!?!"

So, like you said, what's one more.

But I do think of cutting the vintage collection. But realistically.......it's not gonna happen.

MOTU is definitely my favorite property and would be the last one I could cut out. It even hurt me recently to box up some of my MOTUC variants to make room for newer MOTU figures. If someone held me at gunpoint and told me to choose one definitive MOTU line to keep and I had to sell all the rest I would just reach over and pull the trigger myself because I couldn't make that choice.

I love everything about MOTU, the goofy characters, the mysterious places, the music from the vintage cartoon. It all just makes me happy. TMNT is a distant second and then probably Marvel after that but MOTU is where my heart is and will always be.

I would agree with all of that completely. From TMNT being second to the choice made at gunpoint lol.

I always worry what I'll do when these Mondo 1/12th scale 200X figures come out. I'd like to think I won't buy them. But I almost know.......I will.

Mondo's bigger MOTU figures are the only MOTU line that's easy for me not to buy, just because of how big they are. But even then, I still bought the Holy Hell He-Man Edition, and his Holy Hell Battle Cat to go with him as a center piece in the MOTU collection room.

But I try to be reasonable. I try to tell myself, "You have so much MOTU. You don't need more." Just like I was thinking with the Masterverse Vintage Collection. Save some money, cut something. But it's really just a thought. I can't bring myself to do it.

I'm glad we had this talk. Now me saying "sometimes I think about not collecting the new Vintage Collection in the Masterverse line" sounds like the dumbest f****** thing I ever said.

I'm fairly new to MotU, so Masterverse and Turtles of Grayskull are really my only maintained collections. I absolutely intend to get in on the Mondo 1/12 stuff if tariffs don't fuck 'em up too bad. I had He-Man stuff as a kid, like everyone, but for whatever reasons, it just wasn't one I held on to. Got back into it via the Netflix shows (both/all of them) and the DC comics, then went back and watched 200X as well. I still count Marvel as my #1, but oddly enough, I've been done with Legends for a couple of years, for various reasons. MotU and TMNT are my main big-scale collecting franchises now.
