Masters of the Universe: Masterverse

I’ll probably keep these preorders even if I put more in elsewhere. I like to have a “home copy” and “office copy” of beloved figures, and Masterverse Evil Warriors tend to fall into that category.
I’m not upset that I have a couple extras of Battle Armor Skeletor, for instance. I’m no market speculator, but I do get anxious about beloved figures breaking and not being able to replace them.
 
Two Battle Armor Skeletors....can you send me your address and the times you will be away from home. I'd like to volunteer to mow the lawn and bring in the mail for you while you are away. I'll also feed pets.

Really surprised all of these POs are hitting at once. Even more surprised that this is the first time we are seeing some of these figures at all!
 
I feel like of all the toy lines, MOTU tends to info-dump us with preorders in huge bunches. I may be wrong but I remember pretty often having two waves of Masterverse AND a wave or two of Origins hit at the same time multiple times, sometimes including a TMNT wave on top of it. I know my BBTS POL will get VERY cluttered with MOTU arrivals all at once. (Looks sheepishly at the big box arriving tomorrow)

I'll be skipping any single-elbow female figures they make. I'm in for Kobra Khan and whichever other Snakemen they make for this line.

I never cared for Ninjor, but them adding all kinds of spikey parts to him and those masks finally have me interested in him. Really like the red demon mask on him.

I don't care for Skeletor variants, so Terror Claws is an easy pass even though I do like how they designed his head/helmet for this figure.
 
The elbrows are definitely a disappointment. I was trying to repose Evil Lyn yesterday and got so frustrated with them I just put her back on the shelf and gave up.
 
Yeah, I do wish they would move permanently away from elbrows. Messing with Snout-Spout just now and he has them too, and they are frustratingly limited.
 
I saw a couple people on reddit saying last night that Amazon had canceled their Ninjor pre-orders for a safety recall. It was a similar situation to this newest round of pre-orders: the "preview link" or whatever let you order, but the actual product page said NOT FOUND. Last night, it wasn't available to order even that way when I checked, but this morning it was. I placed an order, and no cancellation yet, so who knows.
 
I'm just gonna say it again after look at another picture; I'm so fucking STOKED for that Blade figure. In trying to control my collecting, I've paired down my Masterverse to -mostly- just movie figures and a few others here and there. The movie figures really do make me incredibly happy and as much as it has more 'toyish' sculpting and paint, I've gotta say that this figure looks so much better than the massive disappointment that was Classics. Scott and the 4H fucked that figure up so hard. Maybe the worst-designed figure in that entire line. And since he's my favorite/second-favorite MOTU villain, that's a pretty monumental disappointment for me.

I desperately hope they keep churning out movie figures. And I'd prefer more than one a year.

They showed the greyscale render at some convention. I don't know if it was SDCC or PowerCon or the Great Mississippi Flea Market or whatever. It was somewhere.
And the painted version has shown up on the packaging for Ninjor, so I'm guessing he's coming soon now.
 
There are packaged pictures of Blade rolling around. Someone actually received one as a giveaway from Mattel recently. I believe he’s up for preorder this month.
 
My BBTS Pile of Loot became a legit PILE of loot this week so I just got a bunch of stuff including the three newest Masterverse figures and man, they just continue to do great work.

I was mildly interested in King Randor and now that I have him in hand, I can't get over how much I like him. I love that he's got a bald/helmet and a long-hair/crown swappable look, because he looks GREAT as a bald badass. The color his legs looks more gold/orange than flesh colored in hand which is better than I expected.

New Eternia Beast-Man is their best Beast-Man yet. I was looking at him thinking all he really needed was a hinged jaw to be perfect and... HE HAS A HINGED JAW.

Roboto is just really cool. Not flashy but an upgrade to the previous version for sure.
 
The fuzzy armor on the Deluxe Beast Man is such a good piece, same with the spikey club/bat, but it feels like this new one is better in every other way. The whip is an improvement that's night and day vs that weird string whip from the first release. Also the NE-style gunmetal armor vs flat grey armor. Good thing I have no hangups about having all the Beast Mans in the same display.
 
I noticed NE Teela, Kobra, and Hordak's listings were removed from amazon. Those of you who preordered, does your preorder still exist or was it cancelled?
