Masters of the Universe: Masterverse

Aaaand Walmart canceled my Merman preorder. Maybe he will come back in stock, but likely for a higher price, which is what they did with the previous Vintage Collection figures. Teela got canceled for me, but now she’s in stock with no issues ordering and fulfilling. Maybe Merman will follow. I anticipate the same song and dance for Beast Man.
 
SAME. I dont' know why I bother preordering anything with them anymore, especially in this line. I was able to get Teela so I'm sure MAA and Mer-Man and Beast-Man will pop up, too, but gawd, Walmart sucks ass.
 
They blow at pre orders. They cancelled my Mer-Man weeks ago, and I'm sure they will Beast Man too. But who knows. Maybe some random plot twist will occur, and Wal-Mart will actually send me one of these vintage collection figures that I've pre ordered.

I think I have pre ordered every vintage collection figure they've ever put up for pre order, and only ever got Stratos from them. I always have to find them in store or on ebay. Right now, I am all caught up except for Mer-Man and Beast Man.
 
MAA is the only one I haven’t eventually seen go back online. I’ve got the rest, all through Walmart’s site, usually at a higher price than my original PO. I don’t know why they won’t stock Duncan. I grabbed 2x off eBay, where there seems to be no shortage.

Yeah, I dig that. When I was still collecting/keeping Masterverse figures, the one thing I waffled on all the time was the He-Man with that bearded head. I just didn't really like the rest of the figure so I never ended up getting it. It's a good look for him, though. And I always liked the New Eternia body, but not the helmeted head. So if I'd actually been more industrious - I probably would have gone this same direction.
 
I have a few similar part swaps as well. I’ll try to get a shot up today.

First, a couple of He-Mans with some added armor. Can’t even remember where it all originally came from.

I kinda liken these to a wanderer/amnesiac He-Man on the left, to one that has been redeemed/restored on the right.

Similarly to my Wanderer He-Man, I feel like a Viking He-Man needs more coverings in colder climates. Theses shrouds came from a Revelation MAA. The Skeletor has more of a Viking feel with the helmet and beard, and I liked how the skin color from the first Revelations Skel looked with this head and armor/cape.

Using up those Vykron parts, the tank armor seemed right up Duncan’s alley, especially with that neck guard. This is one of those same Revelations bodies, the one that came with the cloth shrouds. Fisto uses up that New Eternia body I don’t love because of the fully armored arm, and swaps in Ram Man armor from a MotU x WWE figure.

I liked how the crappy Revelations cape added a splash of color to Zodac, combined with the armor, he looks more regal. The jet pack armor from Vykron looked neat on this skin tone, so he becomes a cosmic enforcer or herald of some sort.

Those are some great swaps, Norm. Been wanting to do SOMETHING with all those Vikor parts I don't have a body to put them on.

Funny part about my own no-skill parts swap is I was able to buy the extra figures for less than one Masterverse at retail price with BBTS clearing out old stock. (I did the same Helmeted Head on Armored Body thing too since I had the parts with nowhere else to put them. Tank He-Man mode or something.)
 
You got me excited when I say 'Vikor.'
Masterverse never made Vikor. That's Vykron. Small distinction but goddamn did I want a Vikor so bad. He was even in the new cartoon! And they didn't make him. Because Mattel has a personal vendetta against me.
