Marvel Legends Two-Packs

I almost posted them too, but then I balked because I felt like I'd have to also post the other three gamerverse 2-packs and I figured they are kind of a separate (non-comics) line and have a devoted thread anyway.
 
I’d think the discussion for Cyke/Jean and Storm/Wolvie would be in the ‘97 thread. Extremis/Mandarin could fit here but it has its own thread. Masque/Crossbones?
 
I wonder what the base for Champion is. Caliban? Puff Adder? Are those the same body?
 
After some price comparisons, I finally ordered my Champion/Starfox set from Deep Discount because, despite them charging the MSRP of 57.99 as opposed to their usual discounted price, they do offer free shipping for orders over $25.00. That's the best deal I could find.
I really wish they still handed out those additional 10% promo codes. That would have been the cat's pajamas!

I think it depends on deco there.. The original Puff Adder Wave version with the more maroon red definitely felt like a matte would be more appropriate. I think the brighter red can go either way.

Yeah the Puff Adder wave version also matched the cover art for that armour, which seemed to show a more matt finish compared to the interior art.

This is the type of thing that I'd like to mess around with, but it's too pricey to take the risk 😄 I might actually try it on the Model 20 (24-ish?) though to see how it turns out, as they're a really similar colour and I've never really warmed to that figure, so I'm not too worried if I'm unhappy with the result.

Good to know that heat fixes the issue with the ab joint as I've seen a few people post about that. I wonder what the problem is that's causing it in the first place?
 
I always thought the IM figure that came in the Puff Adder wave was more of a Rose Gold red, followed up with a brushed antique gold for the gold parts. This new version is more of a burgundy or rust red with a brass color for the gold accents

I picked up a cheap Pretty Boy head to try on the Mandarin body and I swear if he looks sufficiently like Peter Wisdom I'm going to end up spending too much on a second copy of the set.
 
They definitely send random sale emails on blu rays and other in-stock items, but I don't think they do the 10% off sign-up deal anymore. I have signed up and then unsubscribed and then signed up again numerous times with my multiple email addresses and it seems like they finally ended that offer around a year ago.
I loved it while it was in effect. It would drop ML preorders 20% and often provide free shipping to boot.
Now THAT'S what I call a deep discount!
 
I do find it odd that after having no Deathbird for so many years, that with the release of our third Gladiator HE gets all the love and attention when it comes to pack ins. I get it, Deathbird took a lot to sculpt but couldn't we have at least gotten some extra hands? A separate head the hair can be mounted on for a different expression? Even her wings maybe? At this point just make her a deluxe, she looks great as it but is rather bare bones on accessories. Not even a gun, which she's known for using too. Gladiator could have just come with another character like Erik the Red, D'Ken, or one of the Imperial Guard.
