Marvel Legends Preorders - When and Where

I need to know about Mystique and Storm, too. Hopefully they aren't nearly as difficult to get as the Psylocke/Thanos set.

WIth both Safari Chuck and X-Factor Jean I've seen multiple Targets have pegs full of them that did not dwindle immediately. They seem to order the X retro cards sufficiently this year.

Yeah, my Target had like 16 Safari Chucks and hadn't sold any until he went to half off. Now I think they're down to 3. I think they still have that full same amount of X-Factor Jean. Those are the first Legends exclusives that they had stocked since Yondu and Ant-Man what seems like years ago now. They never got any of retro card Carnage, Warbird or the those Tracksuit Mafia figures. Up to now they've never had any Psylocke/Thanos either but they also haven't done their reset yet. I'm still holding out hope on that (but probably foolishly).

I think Charles and Jean aren't selling because they're both kinda lame. They may have ordered plenty, but I don't think people want to buy them. Charles is ok, though too big a body for the character. More people would probably want him in his chair. We all know the boot problem with Jean, making this figure less desirable too. I think Mystique will be a hot seller. Not sure on Weapon X, but I see that he's pre-sold out online too. Storm could be popular, but I don't know how many people are building that Outback team. And now two of those members have the wrong hair styling for the era (Rogue, Storm).

I think thats maybe a weird interpretation based on your preferences. I thought both Chuck and Jean were good figures in outfits I wanted in my collection. Mystique, on the other hand is the same design and look I was able to easily get at Walgreens before and has been done in the line more than once.

The Weapon X in the line is similar, not really bringing anything new to the table. That doesn't mean Mystique won't sell better, she might but its not like shes some new character we,be been waiting for.

Mystique was also an exclusive that wasn't that easy to get. One of the few Walgreens exclusives that came and went, at least from my stores. Much like Silver Surfer. I'm sure there will be plenty who skip her since we have her already. But I think there will also be plenty who pick her up to go with Destiny, to upgrade to pinless limbs, etc.

Boot issue aside, X-Factor Jean is one of my favorite figures of the last few months. I *love* that they got her and Cyke out so close to each other, and if they were smart the rest of the team would be right behind them. I'm about 40 issues deep into a reread of original X-Factor because of those two. Also reading some of the spinoffs from around the same time that I never got around to before, like Fallen Angels and X-Terminators. Fallen Angels was weeeeeird, man.

Outback Storm is a sleeper hit of SDCC for me. Norm, do you have any examples of what you wanted her hair to look like? A quick search shows a whole bunch of different options, some of which look more or less like what we got.

I'm with you on all counts there. The boots were just so weird, given even the package art showed them, but alas, I do like the figure and want to build that iteration of X-Factor (and get some of the foes from that early run as well)!

I was looking for more of the outgrown Mohawk. Long, really big hair, but with sides shaven. The original 5” Toy Biz figure from the very first time wave of X-Men figures depicted this.

I would have preferred the red costume, I think that went with the white costume we already got for Cyke. I was actually a little annoyed they doubled up on Scott with the yellow costume, but I guess I appreciate the updated body. I just can’t stand that they didn’t give Jean the yellow boots she should have. That really soured the figure for me

$40 is too steep for most of these. Man-Wolf being a (mostly?) new figure takes the sting off a little bit - the truth is, I will *happily* pay $40 for a figure of a classic comic character made well. New parts, sculpted details, paint, and accessories - cheaper is nicer, but I'll pay a bit more to see these characters who only get one shot every 20 years done right.

The MTG stuff is general release, yeah? Wondering if it'll be Man-Wolf sells out cos he's the only one we're all uniformly interested in, or if MTG speculators have primed bots to wipe out the stock in the first 15 seconds.
