Marvel Legends Maximum Series

It’s got a kind of sudden angle to the bottom of the inside tenon of the joint so when the toe gets curled up there’s a kind of pointed edge that is created on the sole and stops making a flat toe-print to rest on.

All of that wall crawling must have given Peter one hell of a bunion.

It can be shaved.

…which immediately disqualifies these from deserving the Maximum title if they get something wrong that they’ve actually done right on regular figures. It’s not an unreasonable standard to hold them to.

Didn't set that discourse up at all, just sharing that it can be tweaked.

Personally, it's never gotten in the way of my out the box figure, but it's dumb they're using the price point to experiment rather than use their best.

I’ve been thinking about the next spider-man that could be incorporated into the maximum line and while I know that symbiote Spidey is heavily rumored, I’m wondering if we’re more likely to see a 2099 figure or Ben Reilly in his Sensational suit? It’s been a few years since we’ve seen either of those variants in Legends, meanwhile the symbiote suit has seen like 3 releases in the last three years

I’d be surprised if they did more than the symbiote as a Maximum variant since with a small number of releases per year the character slots would be limited and there’s others who I expect would be higher on the list.

A Maximum Miles or Ghost Spider would be something I could envisage seeing happen but more likely I reckon the next Spider-related Maximum release would be a deluxe Venom, and maybe not for a year or more down the road.

However, once updated tooling has occurred in Maximum I could see it filtering into standard release carded updates so maybe we’ll see an updated Scarlet Spider in that form but without all the extra accessories?

There’d be howls of fury, but I’d absolutely take a brighter-coloured Gamerverse style Spidey on the Max body but with none of the bells and whistles, for a chunk less cash.

That sounds correct.

I suppose I'm more a consumer who wants them to go, "Three per year, here's the first six". I'm over the teases in streams. Just tell me what's happening.

I love the Joe teams name reveals and render reveals.

Like had they laid out even these first three, leaks aside, I think it might have set a bit more intent.
If they revealed this year's Maximum and next year's, then what will they reveal next year? Eventually, you'll be learning about stuff way too out in advance which will make for long dull waits until product arrives. It seems like Hasbro has generally been shortening the time between reveals and product arrival. Which is fine. Shortens those long periods of time where fans have nothing to do but turn on each other.

While I wouldn’t mind another scarlet spider, I think I’m tapped out for the time being thanks to some of the latest imports. The Mafex Scarlet Spider 2.0 is stellar, and I’m really looking forward to the upcoming SHF version. Not to mention we just got a ML scarlet spider in early 2024. So as far as I’m concerned, it’s Ben’s Sensational Spider-Man costume that needs to be redone first.

The retro carded version came out so long ago that not only was it on the Retro body, but I remember there was some overlap between that release and the Mafex version as they were coming out around the same time in late 2021. Also Walmarts and targets were still doing solid cases post Covid so often times you’d have to spend months sifting through 7000 cases of nothing but Shocker figures only to finally find Hobgoblin and it was like a moment out of Arthurian myth!

The upcoming year. Repeat.

I feel like it's worse with the "fans turning on each other" with no expectations at all, because everyone runs wild with what it could or should be, and then it gets conflated with influencers and it becomes an even more annoying hypothetical loop.

Other companies drop some sort of road map. They do it within their own Joe line. I don't find it to be an unreasonable info drip.

That seems to be the Marvel team MO, though. Vague posts and accessory teases vs Classified and Black Series just telling you what's going on.

I'd kill for either Thor or Yellowjacket as a Maximum. Thor in a classic look hasn't been done in awhile and Yellowjacket hasn't been done in, what, a decade?

More like nearly two decades. He was in the Annihilus wave if I remember correctly from back in 2007.

As an added bonus, it would give the leakers less to talk about.
