Marvel Legends Maximum Series

Unparalleled Universe mentioned the bunched fabric in the sculpt, and that's really gonna bother me.

The cloth folds on his hips were the first things I saw when they showed it, and it definitely bothers me. I don't care if it has cloth folds per se - like Billium said, it can be his cloth costume - but it looks out of place. I think it's the all black paint hiding it most places, making it stand out like a spotlight on his hips. It looks inconsistent in pictures, though probably better in hand.

Symbiote Spidey is a little underwhelming to me. After finally releasing a figure worthy of the Maximum label - and price tag - with Thor, this next offering seems to revert back to formula. I don't really care because there are hardly more costumes out there with as many options, but I'd rather see them make the most out of this formula.

It's hard to make a figure that's just black plastic with little paint look worth $50. They probably should have retooled some parts to get rid of those folds, but obviously that likely goes against what they want to do with this set of tools.

I can pass on this one. I like this sculpt a lot less as symbiote spidey, and the re-use just doesn't feel "maximum" to me.

We all knew they’d errantly reuse the standard costume body for the symbiote costume. It’s still disappointing that they didn’t make the effort to make it a smooth body with no cloth wrinkles. I’m in no hurry for this one.

They could have solved this problem by not putting wrinkles on the original body to begin with. It certainly didn't need them, and only cut them off at the knees for re-use like this.

I like the wrinkles on the traditional costume. The symbiote is a different thing though. At least to me. I guess I can justify it as I don’t know what a real life symbiote costume would do. Maybe it would bunch up at the joints.
