Marvel Legends Maximum Series

I opened mine and I'll just add to the chorus of folks raving about this figure. There's not much more I could say that others haven't already said and said better, so I'll just say I'm extremely happy with him (though I'm among those not thrilled with his head sculpts). Mine is already proudly standing among his Asgardian fellows on my shelf.
 
I received the Maximum Thor today from Amazon. The figure is definitely not worth the $66.99 price tag. I have one coming from EE soon at the $55.99 price so that one will be going back to Amazon once it arrives to get the $11 difference back. This Thor is tall but not as tall as the RML Thor which looks more like a Copiel Thor, head sculpt and body density but was too tall. I like the head sculpts and hands which to my surprise fit perfectly on the Herald Thor body. Hasbro should have given it's Marvel Comics fans the All-Father Thor instead of that repainted Black Winter Thor in which both utilize the Herald Thor look. However All-Father Thor was sleeveless so I'm working on that. I very much like the Thor I kit bashed utilizing these new parts from Maximum Thor on to the body of my Herald Thor. He looks perfectly in scale with Hyperion, Hercules, Gladiator and many others including my kit bashed Luke Cage. Thank you for the parts Hasbro's Marvel Legends team. I do appreciate it.

I believe that this has actually been rumored or hinted at.

I think that we know that the next maximum is symbiote Spidey - but then I'd expect the next one to be X-related (or Cap). Any of Magneto, Nightcrawler, Storm, Iceman or Beast would all make a lot of sense. I'd expect that we're due for an announcement - but we should expect it be the black suit Spidey (which I fully intend to skip). Green Goblin, Mr Fantastic and Venom seem to be likely locks for this treatment at some point as well.

Thor is my favorite Maxium figure so far. I'd personally rate them Thor... then Deadpool and Spider-Man pretty evenly...... and then last would be that abomination of a Hulk. That Hulk was my most regretted action figure purchase last year. I like all of the other 3, but Thor is far and away my favorite of the group.

I’ve really liked all of the Maximum figures so far, but Thor is my favorite. The new body, extra faces, and wired cape are such great added value that really enhance this Thor compared to previous Thor figures.

I think Dr. Doom, Magneto, and Dr. Strange would benefit a lot from Maximum figures.

Iron Man with extra effects like a huge uni-beam would be really cool.

I hope that we get a run of villains in the line and hit at least one for each of the major properties. Doom, Goblin, Magneto, Loki, etc. And yeah, we're due a really extra GG

I have Spidey and Hulk, and am waiting on a good sale for Deadpool, but I ABSOLUTELY DO NOT NEED the Max Thor.

There is no trying to convince me otherwise, because I never read the comics during that time, and I frankly don't like the costume.

I have the anniversary Thor with a soft goods cape, and that's all I'll need for the Odin son in my collection.
 
I find it so funny that people have to proclaim they are not interested in Max Thor. It’s like people needing to announce they don’t eat pizza or refuse to masturbate. It’s cool, your loss! But why deprive yourself of something so inherently enjoyable? It’s a funny hill to die on.
