Got my Spider-Man Maximum figures today. I love them. There are a lot of options for Spider-Man, some cheaper - many stuck in multi-packs. This is without a doubt the best one. It's the figure I dreamed the original Spider-Man Classics would be back in 2001. It's the figure I tried to create with the first good Retro Spider-Man with the RAFT SDCC set head. This is that figure. Perfect proportions. Perfect articulation. It feels solid. The price is always going to be a problem - but I feel like had they included the mask accessory and a more classic head, you might see less complaints. You definitely get a ton of shit in the set. Still very expensive.

I want to see this new body used as a standard for Spider-Man going forward (after the new Maximum Hulk reveal we can probably agree that the body's being Maximum specific is not a reality) and I want a symbiote Spider-Man and Classic brighter blue with a Romita head ASAP. In 2025. For those picking this guy up, once your wallet stops stinging - it's worth it.

I actually did get the first MAFEX Spider-Man back when. It's super posable obviously, but I've never liked the aesthetic of the MAFEX figures beside Legends. That's the bias - so I much prefer the Maximum in its posablity and being a Legend. For those that have the MaFEX and don't mind mixing the lines, they might be happy with what they have.

But I mean, look at this (random photographers pics):

I got Mafex 185 Spidey and canceled my Maximum order. Zero regrets. So far this line is not as maximum as I’d hoped.

The only two Spider-Man figures I own are the MAFEX symbiote and classic redeco. I haven't had any need to replace them, but the Maximum figure is testing my resolve. I'll probably pick up the Maximum figure whenever they inevitably release it in classic colors.

I've never liked the roundness(?) of the MAFEX sculpt, but it looks great in web-slinging poses. The roundness has never been enough for me to replace it because I pose my figures dynamically, anyway.

A couple of the Mondo guys were on the 3POA YouTube stream. AttackPeter said their 1/12 He-Man upper torso is intended to squish for more range like Max Hulk. Ah, these wacky American action figure designers. Btw, I'm trying to incorporate "squish" as the proper term for this type of articulation, so you would ask something like, "Does this figure have upper torso squish?"

I see MAYBE 1 pose in all these photos that the a RYV Spidey couldn't do.

I'm sure Hasbro is very happy with the Maximization of their profit margins on this line.

Picked up my Spideys last week in Canada. No complaints even if the price sucks.

I love this suit too much, and the articulation is definitely the best Hasbro has done. Even beats out the Mafex for crouching. I will never use the webs or even the ungloved hands, But I don't care. The joy of posing this figure simply because he is Spider-Man is worth it.

I was never fully on board with RYV, particularly the head sculpt and the way that it floats. I also found it a little bit too big. I can't remember if that predates Legends scaling things down. They definitely have. This figure just shows my dislike for the RYV Spidey in a brighter light. And he looks great with MJ and Spinneret.

I was down for Hulk, but I don't like his heads. Was hoping for that Peter David look. No big deal.

I actually like the head options. The thing I don't like is not having a good "standard" head, which a release like this should absolutely have. But the artist-specific ones are fun.

I REALLY wish they'd given him a balljoint waist. The pins bother me less, but for what they claimed this line would be it's an obvious miss. I'm still probably in on this.

6inchplus on Instagram is making an absolutely incredible classic Hulk, with optional Gladiator/World War Hulk kits. It's gonna end up running around $200 for just the regular Hulk. If we weren't approaching financial meltdown I'd be seriously considering it...

They better come out swinging for the 3rd Maximum. Might need to go directly to a Daredevil with a ton of head options, and every billy club effect they can think of. I'd be OK with it being on the RYV body - it's well-suited for DD, moreso than Spider-Man. Agreed there.
