Marvel Legends Maximum Series

A classic release with brighter blues/reds and a better Peter Parker head and non McFarlane style mask would be a great Max mid-release release :)

Deadpool is great outside of the costume not being the classic choice (sensing a theme for the line) and the bicepts being an absolute tear risk.

This is where I'm at too. My Marvel display has shrunk down to one shelf, so it's reserved for the best classic versions of the big main characters I can get. This Thor looks incredible, congrats to everyone that's enjoying him! I would love to get one to mess with, but I'm trying to get away from buying stuff that's going to go straight into storage anymore. It's a real issue for some of us collectory types!

Im with you guys on the spider-man figure too. If he was in the classic light blues, I would have picked him up for sure. For now classic mafex spidey and classic Mezco Thor are going to keep representing on my shelf. I really would like to get more classic Ditko or Romita style eyes on my display spidey head, I am growing a bit tired of the McF eyes on my mafex.

The cool thing is, you can always ask @Sgt. Stinky to send you some pics of HIS new Thor, if you ever just need a fix but don't want to get your own.
Honestly, he might even be getting a second one so he can display different head options.

I like the figure a lot, but man it’s hard to feel like a Spidey is truly “maximum” without sculpted webbing. And yes I know they want to reuse the body but man having the BND Spidey right next to it there is no question which figure vibes more “prestige” to me and honestly I’m trying to reject the movie-ness of the figure in my mind so I can use it as a basic 616 Spidey.
 
I used to lean in very hard on the sculpted web lines. It was the only way Toy Biz got the lines right, frankly. My preference now is the painted web lines as Hasbro is generally able to do a good job with them. My bias is for photography it doesn't look "right" to have indented lines for shadowing. The flat costume with painted web lines looks closer to a dude in a onesie. Entirely - entirely subjective take. Sculpted web lines do tend to make the figure feel more premium. The other issue with Max Spidey is that its by far the shiniest Spider-Man figure I have. I don't do the dullcoat spray, but I'd consider it with this guy. Light just bounces right off of it.

You are killing me @Damien! Killing me! I am going to get him. Seriously. I am. But it will be a minute because I have to save up the money to get him. Although.....now that I think about it.....your consistent badge......I mean encouragement of me getting it, we could speed up that process and you could just go ahead and get him for me and send it my way and you know....I will gladly pay you Tuesday for a Maximum Thor today!

Be a lot harder to do that if you had someone protecting you.
A superhero perhaps. Or some kind of like... greater being. Not like an angel or anything but something better. Like even a god, really. Oh, a god of some kind of primordial force like earthquakes. No.. maybe not earthquakes.... I dunno.. a god of -something- that is ALSO a superhero? That'd be a lot of protection.
Can't put my finger on a good choice, though.

Im pretty sure the next one they do would be a Black Costume, but we'll see.

ALso I started re-reading the JMS Thor, and Mjolnir is actually smaller in his hand, closer to what the older Mjolnir toys look like in this ones hand, so I have gone back and swapped it over.

But God i love this toy. Need to find the chance to take a big Asgardian pic.

I wish I had a better Peter head too. Something a bit bulkier, that really.......well, I'll just leave it at a wish I had a better Peter head.

I got Maximum Thor today. This figure is really cool. But the little Thor Frog is just too damn enjoyable. It's stupid how much I like the little Thor Frog. I paid $60 for this big ass, warrior Asgardian, and I keep going back to the 2" little frog in a cape. This f***ing Frog has changed my outlook on existence. I am now at peace with the Universe and no longer fear death.

The Thor is great though. Fun accessories, so much detail and pose ability, and just a big imposing looking Thor figure. Even just the Thor would have made this one of my Top 3 Marvel Legends pickups this year. But with the Frog.........it's #1.

Maximum Thor!

Coipel’s Thor is one of my favorite looks for Thor, tied with the classic suit. I’ve wanted a great version of this costume in figure form for a long time. Maximum Thor does not disappoint!

Beautiful sculpting. Excellent head sculpts that add so much personality. Finally a Thor with a screaming head sculpt! The cape is fantastic! Love the hammers and lightning effects!

This Thor is absolutely necessary for so many of my favorite eras of Marvel—followup to Civil War, Dark Reign, Heroic Age, etc. And it was featured in Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes! Amazing costume made as a truly impressive figure.
