Marvel Legends Gamerverse

I saw a reel with Moon Knight being unboxed - and honestly these figures look really nice and pose very well. They just don't fit in with the style of every other Legend (at least the Spider-Verse and X-Men 97 stuff have released enough figures to justify their own display shelf) and I really don't like the base designs for most of the characters. The game is predicated on having people be motivated to pay for cooler looking skins - by definition the basic look is going to be the least popular. With the price, I'm also not sure they will release enough of these characters to have their own sizable display. Very torn on these guys, but I'm sure my opinion will solidify once I've got them all in hand and sitting on the shelf. What I'm seeing in reviews is very good though. Those posing is shockingly good.

Found Moon Knight at Target today and wasn't going to pick him up, but figured WTH - he feels so tiny compared to ML!

Actually, he kinda feels like what we would get if McFarlane got the Marvel license and did what they did to DC with it. 😬

However, everyone can moan about what articulation they want - I want drop-down hips on EVERYONE. They improve the poses these figs can hit SOOOOOO MUUUUCCCHHH.

Dammit... I didn't think I wanted that Moon Knight... but looking at that I'm feeling like it would fit in with my Classified Arctic BAT... now I'm thinking about it.

Found Punisher today at a different Target - these definitely feel like what McFarlane would do to the license if he got Marvel. Teeny heads, "artistic" interpretation, lots of machismo and unnecessary patterns and complicated sculpts. The tiny, re-used pew-pews he comes with feel somewhat emasculating somehow. Frank's guns need bigger pew-pews. (This is a joke.)

Kept Moon Knight's extended cape and flipped the figure already - yay!

Modern MK was the only one I could easily pull off a shelf without taking everyone else down, and it looks better if the cape is not plugged into his back - the plug fits, but the front part hovers weird. Kinda like it best with the crescent shape off-center like his logo.

I'm very curious if these Rivals figures sell well, especially at higher prices. I know the game makes a ton of money on skins and other bullshit - but I don't know if that will translate into figure sales. I have a friend who has put way too many hours in Rivals... unhealthy amounts - and is also into collecting stuff. He has no interest in any of these Legends and thinks the Punisher figure looks dumb. Now, this is just one opinion, but I wonder if those spending the money to make the game popular have any cross interest in the toys. Looking at these in-hand images, I've got zero excitement to actually get them. They will sit on my Gamerverse shelf and not match anything else aesthetically.

I have noticed that the ministatues are gathering dust fiercely, but they’re about 40-50 each and of mismatched scales so kinda seem like a misstep that should have been ditched in favour of getting out a better roster of timely releases action figures rather than the lagging handful of Legends they’re testing the water with before confirming more characters.
