Marvel Legends Gamerverse

Anyone have any ideas for who this sword belongs to? I found it in a baggie of accessories and figured I’d donate it to Psylocke, but before I do that I’d at least like to know who I’m stealing it from. It’s a particular mold that hasn’t been used a TON in Legends, it has a thicker handle than the other common katana mold. It’s the same one that was used for the Apocalypse wave Psylocke, Typhoid Mary, black costume Wolverine, and Spiral (but wasn’t any of those figures)

I could reach through the screen and kiss you!

Unfortunately moderators are forbidden from romance with other forum goers.

But really, I’ve been driving myself crazy trying to figure this out for like two hours now. I completely forgot he came with a katana in addition to his pirate sword.

I know Typhoid Marry came with a sword like that but hers had a flame effect. And also maybe a brown hilt? But yeah Hasbro has produced dozens of those. In fact I think the X-Force Psylocke came with one in translucent purple

I finally got hold of the Target nearest my work. Apparently the set is sold out at every nearby store. I guess I'll keep an eye on the website.

I’ve been handling Pdylocke all night and she is really fun. More articulated than even the Mafex figure. And there is obviously no comparison between previous Psylocke figures. Now we need Archangel in the Blue and White costume with the metallic wings and the blue face.

Phoenix was definitely orderable online. Maybe not at first, but that's where I got her.
I ordered 6 from Target.com the night they went up. Target mispriced those at $34.99 when MSRP was $49.99. They came in stock while there was a 30% discount category for select Disney/Marvel toys, and there was simultaneously a $20 off $75 sale so those were just under $18 apiece. I think she popped up a few times the next week for $34.99 but at that $49.99 price everybody else still seems to be sitting on them.

Not sure if the Psylocke/Thanos is gonna pop back up. Looks like they shipped a lot to stores around me but they’re likely just all on back-pallets just waiting to be manually marked out of stock by the first employee that’s asked to find them lol. I don’t think Savage Land Professor X popped back online after hitting stores, but X-Factor Jean, ‘97 Rogue, and ‘97 Wolverine did.

Can’t believe my preorders actually showed up on the release date this morning! Psylocke’s easily one of the best figures in terms of sculpt and engineering I own, and even more so when just looking at female figures. Thanos really brings me back to my days of pumping quarters into arcades. The new gloves, boots, and head really work and the colors pop. They’re both so good it makes the price point hurt less.

If anything, the only complaint I have is that Psylocke didn’t get another more game-inspired alternate head. It’s weird that Thanos, Venom, and War Machine are all coming in two packs with MvC style head sculpts and their accompanying Psylocke, Cap, and Omega Red mostly got comic-line heads.

It just occurred to me that usually that Target usually schedules a haulothon right around the tail end of July but I can’t recall hearing about one for this summer. Is that still a thing? It usually occurs in the waiting days of July and into the first week of August.

I've called 6 of 12 Targets near me, and every one of them still hasn't done their reset. All six were showing all 4 of their sets in stock but not available to be grabbed and held at customer service until they unwrap the pallets.

Two others aren't answering yet as TSI noted. I hadn't had that happen in my past attempts at this which was two summers ago when I was going after super-articulated Black Widow, but I guess I'm not surprised. When I go into the stores the Customer Service desk is sometimes empty since those are the people who do the shopping for in-store pickup, and that seems to be increasing a lot which isn't surprising.

This is the slowest I've seen stores do their resets, or perhaps the timing on this release is just bad and ahead of when they were planning to do them. Usually half of the stores have done their resets when the summer Legends sets release, but maybe this one is a bit early.

Since I'm finding none of my local Targets have done their resets yet it's possible the employee you talked to doesn't know what resets are or how to tell in the system when items are being held for a reset. At least 1 in 3 employees I talk to are like that. If the employee you talked to was looking at the list of nearby stores with the set in stock then they should show as not in stock to the other stores in the area, although every iteration of variation is possible and sometimes a store will mark them as in stock and on the floor even when they're wrapped up on pallets. I've always found that to happen since I started hunting exclusives back in 2019, and two of the stores I've contacted this week were showing them on the floor but when they went to the back they were wrapped on pallets.

When I do talk to someone who knows about planogram resets I'm always asking if they know when those resets will happen. So far the estimates I'm getting are mid-week this week or next weekend. I still have six more to call, and I'll be surprised if at least one of them doesn't have them available to be grabbed from the back as others here have found. Not every Target stacks everything onto pallets and shrink-wraps them. They're supposed to do that, but I've found some stores end up not doing that.

Also note that nobody here who bought theirs in store has seen them on the shelves, right? So this set probably DID release a bit early and before the planned planogram resets.

I now remember that in 2019 that the Marvel 80th sets released a about two weeks before Target was planning to do their planogram resets. Every store I contacted had them in the back for 2-3 weeks after the set date, and by calling around I managed to find one who had them accessible in the back and held them at Customer Service for me. I remember having to call half a dozen stores or so before I found one who could get to them in the back.

Just called another two stores and both hadn't done resets and couldn't get to the boxes. Both said the plan was to do the reset this week.

If my reset hypothesis is right then it may also be why the system isn't letting Target's web site sell the set there yet. These sets are supposed to be inaccessible until the resets happen, so it shouldn't show as available for online order and in-store pickup until those get done.

I usually see items pop up as available for online order and in-store pickup early in the morning. Usually they show up for order before the store even opens, but sometimes it's later after they open. I've always assumed it's because that's when the stock manager at any given store will know for sure that the resets or shelf stocking between resets will happen that day and the items are then available for in-store pickup, but that's a complete educated guess based upon what I know about their system and I haven't heard anything specific from any employee to confirm the idea.

There is also the possibility that Ryan Ting was the one primarily responsible with ensuring that places like Target and Walmart were sent product in time for restocks and with his role in the company eliminated, it’s caused a little bit of a disruption in the flow of merchandise. This is also right on the heels of the other 1500 staffers that were fired at Hasbro in the past year so stuff is just trickling out more slowly.
