Marvel Cinematic Universe Movies and Streaming Series Discussion

I wonder if it's just as simple as being included to help foreign audiences identify where the film takes place? Few of the famous indentifying landmarks we have/had here in NY were around in the 60's- the Statue of Liberty, of course, and the Chrysler Building, but I don't know how famous the latter is to outside countries. Same with Rockefeller Center. I know this is an alternate universe, so those buildings could've been built any time, if at all, but still.

I watched Thunderbolts again, and I enjoyed it even more. Eternals and Marvels were movies I enjoyed a lot and felt they deserved more box office than they got, but Thunderbolts is a major travesty to me. I. LOVED. That movie.
Agreed. I hope it finds an audience on its home release. I'd hate for Marvel to take the wrong message away and think that fans don't want more emotional, meaningful stories. They're at least a little better with that than some other studios, but still. With the exception of Bucky and maybe Yelena, they could totally just ignore the rest of them (assuming any/all of them survive Doomsday).

Edited to add- I mentioned it over in the MCU figure thread, but it looks like Paul Walter Hauser's role in Fantastic Four was revealed in a preview panel of the prequel comic coming out next week. Supposed to be a small role in the film, but I'd still happily take a figure of it.

Do yourself a favor and correct that!! Best movie of the year so far, easy.
There are several reasons why I want to see it but, and I know how you'll probably feel about this, but...
Vampires, especially the kind I'm perceiving these to be, FREAK me out. As a kid, Dracula was my Boogeyman. When the woman is about to bite Lou Costello on the neck in Abbott & Costello Meet Frankenstein? Even that disturbs me. Lost Boys not so much, Coppola's Dracula nah, but I can't watch 30 Days of Night again even though it was well done and all... But the ads I saw for it on Hulu and such, I'm sorry, I wanna clutch a pillow just thinking about it heh.

Honestly? It warms my cold, undead heart that some folks still legitimately shudder at the children of the night.
🧛🏻‍♂️
Still worth it, but definitely take care of yourself. There’s some stuff I definitely can’t watch.

I'll echo the Sinners love! In terms of vampire flicks, it's not that spooky and gory- there's definitely some striking imagery and a fair amount of blood, but I'd say it's definitely on a different level from 30 Days of Night. The vampires really aren't even a part of it until the last half or so. I loved how music played a part in it all as well. It's out to rent/buy soon, so definitely wait until you can pause it as you see fit, Ru! Methinks (and mehopes) it's gonna sweep the awards next year.

Yeah, Sinners is as much a brilliant social commentary as a horror movie, if you can get through it. It's also beautifully shot.

On the MCU side, on the last episode of Ironheart and for a show I really wasn't interested in, I've found myself really engaged.
