Magic the Gathering Legends

That's SUPER annoying - isn't that figure rare? Outdated, but rare? I would ask Amazon to refund me and not return it. They can't sell it - but you can!

Did you buy the figure new from Amazon? In that case, absolutely get it for free. Someone swapped a Solo movie Han in to the ANH Han box and I got it for free. Ezekiel Stane custom, here we go!

First Amazon pulls Cover Girl from me, now Purolator just can't deliver because they're being picketed at the depots by Post. My MTG MJ and Peter were en route, but now I got undeliverable.

Thankfully EB had MJ. I guess Peter's card is going for 100ish, so he was long gone.

So, i think the connected arrows are so they don't fall out of the quiver and get lost, but they look like individual arrows and not one big sculpted glob like they would if they were sculpted as part of the quiver. I actually thought it was kind of clever, honestly. I always lose the loose extra arrows if there isn't some way to lock them in.

Got Man-Wolf and Battle Pete today. Man-Wolf, as others have said, is a phenomenal figure - just fantastic, easily one of my favorite Legends this year. No notes. (Aside from having NO idea if I'm supposed to, like, fold the arrows and keep them attached in the quiver? Or snap them off? They needed instructions.)

Pete looks good but he's got some type of ratchet for his hip joints I've never seen before and those ball joints just do NOT want to move. I'm gonna try some shock oil on him later but this is literally the first Legends figure I've had joint trouble with since Caliban. I hope it's just a dud and not a new thing entirely that'll start happening more and more.

How popular are Magic cards? Not Pokemon popular, are they? Or am I wrong? What I'm wondering is, is there any chance the Magic crowd who aren't into action figures would want a Mary Jane Iron Spider card bad enough to pay.......oh.....$20? $15? $10? If I could offset this insane price I would bite on MJ, but I'd have to get at least $10 for that card. Is that a pipe dream?

There are sold listings on eBay for that one card for $25 to $30.

Well that's definitely something to take into consideration, thanks.

Even if I did make a good chunk back, I think these new avenues for price hiking are insane. A trading card for $15 more, extra accessories for $25 more....not crazy about supporting those formats.

Mary Jane

Right now the cards are hot and they could settle. My counter argument to my own point is that Hasbro has just been putting stuff out and then that's it. No refresh. No walk in stock. Hits and it's on to the next. There may not be a low floor.

Magic itself is fickle. Some crossovers and cards are ridiculously in demand. Some are not. It depends on if the card is actually good for playing the game in general, and then of course there are the people that just love the franchises. They've crossed over with Fallout, My Little Pony, Assassin's Creed, and on and on.

Magic is hugely popular. That Mary Jane card should get you 20 to 30 bucks.

Just so you know what it is you're selling, these cards already exist in the Spider-Man expansion set, as far as playable text. What is special about these Pack-In cards is it's a variant artwork. It's a variant cover. And it's shiny.

There are people who will want that just to customize their deck. MJ will probably be popular just because it's Mary Jane. The beat up Spider-Man card is also very popular because it's a good card in general and the alternate art is cool. I don't play Magic super seriously, but those are the two that my non-action figure friends expressed interest in as far as being competitive players. But all four of them should fetch just because people like alternate card art.

Random trivia tangent, Magic Arena is the online version of the game and usually the cards have one to one representation. Because of Marvel snap there is no Spider-Man coming to Arena, so there are no digital versions of these cards. They have entirely different artwork and lore, but mechanically they work the same.

So ah... what should I be trying to offload these cards for currently?

Was hoping $20 each Canadian to offset the price hike. Some are worth $60?

Depends if you want to ebay or game the local.

As any price guides, don't take it as gospel, because that site is a global market.

Specifically, my part of Toronto, dude sold his Peter card for 140 canuck. Guy really wanted it, I guess.

What I would do is price off this... For Facebook Marketplace. Or Kijiji? I prefer Marketplace if you can.

Then let them walk you down as far as you can still be happy, but don't do it for them.

Alternately, comic and card shop will pay you less, but it's free real estate either way, ya?

I only very rarely sell stuff off, but if I can move these cards I want to. Especially Peter since I feel like I flushed 40 bucks down the drain with his articulation (on my copy specifically, sounds like it's not a widespread problem.)
