MAFEX Marvel Figures

AmiAmi has fortunately been declaring "Japan" as country of manufacture, so far.

However, I also saw that they are no longer shipping to the US with DHL (as of a week ago).

I already payed Nin Nin to ship DHL for my Rogue. I'm a bit nervous about how that's gonna go.

I expect that since you already paid you'll be fine. With AmiAmi, my understanding is that they are honoring DHL shipping if you've already selected it for an order before the cutoff, even if the item hasn't released yet. But we will see.

I had paid for DHL on my most recent order as well. I received an e-mail from Nin-nin (quoted below) saying that DHL orders would be held unless they were contacted to change delivery service. I sent a brief e-mail requesting a change to EMS and they quickly changed it before shipping soon after.

It's Etienne again, from Nin-Nin Game.

So, let's talk about the elephant in the room: the new US Tariffs!
What is going on?!

Important:
=> Due to the uncertainty around the new US customs Tariffs, we have made the cautious decision to place our FedEx and DHL shipments on temporary hold.

Please note:

- Only FedEx and DHL shipments are affected by the temporary suspension.
- Japan Post / EMS options remain available under specific conditions.

Now for 2 important things:
1) If you wish to switch some of your "On Hold" orders from FedEx/DHL to EMS immediately, please contact our customer service team with your order reference number, and request shipment by EMS.
(please note that this does not in any way guarantee that you will not have to pay any custom duties!)

2) What about new orders? Still Worried? No need to worry anymore!
At Nin-Nin Game, order/preorder any Figure and we will Hold your parcel safely in Japan, in our warehouse, until things cool down. Or until you request shipment! Just comment “HOLD” when you checkout.

We believe this will allow you to continue shopping with no unneeded worries in the meantime, and we are sure things will cool down eventually.

God damn it, the Celebration exclusive Han, Luke, and chrome Mando are available but the Deadpool reissue is the one that I can't snag? Bah, feh and meh.

Hobby Search emailed me overnight updating Rogue's release date to June.

They're probably right, but I'm slightly skeptical because until now I've seen Medicom update their product page for a figure to a delayed month before the retailers know, but they still haven't updated their page for Rogue to say June yet:

So, uh, the rumour mill is kinda wild in the build up to July's show reveals and KD did a live stream discussing them. Iceman is proving tricky because they're really trying to find a material to do him justice. In the pipe - allegedly - are:

Comic figures

* Beast
* Colossus
* Sabretooth
* Cable
* Archangel
* Ghost Rider
* Winter Soldier
* Black Panther
* Black Widow
* The Punisher

MCU

* Born Again Daredevil

Star Wars

* Han Solo
* Chewbacca

The truly unbelievable one is that they're supposedly discussing doing...Shadows of the Empire(!), due to a planned push for 'a' character from it. #TeamDash #OurDayWillCome

But interestingly, it seems that Bandai want a piece of the action too and are planning a silver age comic line of their own, plus are in discussions for an MvC one too. They're also more open to finally releasing some things from the vaults (TFA Cap, TWS Bucky, AoU Vision, and...Phil Coulson, hah).

I was wondering about Iceman. He's one of the only reveals they haven't solicited.

My last few SHF figures have been disappointing. I don't know that I'd buy anything from them. They won't scale with ML, either.

That rumored MAFEX list is juicy. Depending on execution and costume, I could see myself buying all of them except Winter Soldier. For me, Sabretooth, Cable, Widow, and BP are the most exciting characters on that list. Strangely, I like their ML counterparts a lot.

My biggest remaining wishlist characters, in rough order:
  • Magik (probably the only one who's totally unrealistic)
  • Doom
  • Hulk
  • Green Goblin
  • Apocalypse
  • Loki
  • Silver Surfer
  • Black Cat
  • Hawkeye
  • Doc Ock
  • Nightcrawler
  • Mystique
Did he not mention any DC characters?

Jesus-in-drag! That is an expensive list. So much for cutting back.

There was only a vague allusion to the Hush and Knightfall lines continuing but nothing concrete as to who. All in all, it was very Disney focused.

Oddly, there was talk of Bandai looking into other properties, including Mortal Kombat but early days etc.

I should add Rogue to this list. I'd take her in just about any other costume. I'd lose my mind if they made her in her '80s Outback look or green-hooded/Uncanny Avengers costume.

Fudge, dude. On the hook for some of those.

Probably would buy:

* Ghost Rider (esp. if Danny Ketch).
* Black Panther (depending what he looks like/comes with).

DEFINITELY would buy:

* Black Widow (esp. if it is somehow the gray suit, as seen in Daredevil/Black Widow: Abattoir).
* The Punisher.
*Born Again Daredevil.
*Dash Rendar (how weird, if true).

I'd be on the hook for pretty much any classic Spidey villain, and any Spidey costume that appeared in the 2000 video game. Also, would like an Elektra to go with the Daredevil. Maybe a Moon Knight while we're at it. Oh, and War Machine...

Looking forward to all of those except perhaps Archangel. The new one from Legends appears to have a really similar articulated wing design to that of the older Legends Archangel, but the one time Medicom has done wings in the Mafex line was on Wonder Woman 84 and those have no articulation at all.

Unless they come up with some wing articulation that one sounds like a pass.
