MAFEX Marvel Figures

One odd thing about the new pre-orders is the issue numbers. Movie Venom is 282, Iceman is 283, and Punisher is...136?

Animated Batman released in 2021 is #137, and there is no known 134 or 135, so I'm guessing the numbers they skip are planned releases that they don't get around to for whatever reason but sometimes eventually do.

A lot of that comes down to licensor approval and some figures make the cut while others do not right off the bat. We saw this with the SHF Count Dooku figure a few years back. By the time it was released, most of the SHF Star Wars figures that were either planned or had come out at that point had an entirely new body and articulation design and Count Dooku was a very antiquated release.

I might be a tad too excited for Iceman. The used Marvel Select version I bought solely for the X-Factor belt arrived today. Now I just have to wait 18 months to use it.

I'd like to see them permanently increase their output to three figures a month. Three movie figures out of the way in a single month is a win for me.

Amazing Andrew Spider-Man came in stock at Hobby-Genki just in time to get held up by all the Trump tax chaos. He really does have the worst luck as Spider-Man...

My understanding is that if you chose EMS, your shipment will be on hold because Japan Post is involved. If it were to ship via Japan Post at some point in the next six months, Japan Post could chose to either prepare the customs paperwork and collect/remit the current 15% of value tariff or they could forgo the paperwork and collect/remit a flat $80.

If you chose DHL, you shipment should not be on hold. DHL will prepare the customs paperwork and collect/remit the current 15% of value tariff.

FedEx and UPS would likely be the same as DHL.

Is that everyone else’s understanding?

That's also my understanding, but didn't DHL suspend shipments under $800 to the US? Did that change over the past few days?

I just received the 2.0 scarlet spider figure this past Wednesday and that was shipped out via DHL and was not hit with any fees. Now this might change if the value of the item is higher or its box is of larger dimensions, like a mondo fig for example. But as far as Mafex figures are concerned it ships out and arrived within 36 hours without so much as a delay in customs. Pretty standard fare at the end of the day.
