MAFEX Marvel Figures

Query:

To my knowledge, all of the comic book figures Mafex turns out are based off of specific artists, if not storylines.

To that end, is Daredevil intended to be Mazzuchelli?
 
He reminds me a bit of John Romita Jr.'s version during the Typhoid Mary run. But it's hard to tell. He definitely has kind of a retro look to his face, though one that doesn't age as far back as their Captain America or Thor. An unmasked head would have helped the ID.

DD is definitely intended to be Mazzuchelli with maybe a hint of Chris Sammne mixed in? But because this Daredevil fig lacks so much of the deep black shadows on his costume to help break up the uniformity of the reds that these two artists are known for, the likenesses don’t really shine through too much. Ironically the Daredevil from the Hydro Man 2-pack earns more points here because the likeness is second to none when it comes to that “classic” Daredevil design

Thanks! I wasn't sure, but Mazzuchelli is one of my top five artists, so it sweetens him even more for me. As detailed above, he's close but vague enough in detail for me to question. I see the Samnee in there, too.

I was wondering about it because I got it in my head we also need a Year One Bats.

I thought the Spider-Man one they did many moons ago was pretty cool looking. I thought it was going to be the start of a pattern, but that sadly hasn’t been the case. Black suit Spidey, Scarlet Spider, Dare Devil - all characters that could look pretty cool with that approach.
 
I need that freaking scarlet spider. But seeing those order pages go “live” on Hobby Genki over the past couple of days is just torment. Especially since we don’t know if we will be able to reserve our figures ahead of time or if these pages might not go live until after the show is over next month and they steadily begin to pop up (maybe?) 6-10 weeks from now. It’s like “what the hell???” Are you trying to keep me glued to my phone?” I’ve already had to start wearing a new pair of glasses this past month due to eye strain and these sons of bifches want me to hover around hobby Genki for the next two months?? Get out of here with that…

Soon. When Medicom posts about a re-release it's usually available at Japanese retailers within a week or three. In this case it may not sell out due to the CT Toys bootleg version that's readily available for $30 to $40, but my guess is that it will sell out anyway.

I'm partial to the tiger stripe suit, but I still think this is the best Wolverine ever made in twelfth scale. Those claws are absolutely perfect.
