MAFEX Marvel Figures

If your card doesn't charge foreign transaction fees, you should always pay in the local currency. The exchange rate will be better than whatever the vendor gives you.

It's easy to get complacent as a consumer. I was thinking about it the other day how I never check my receipt at the grocery store. I just put whatever I need on the belt and pay what the machine tells me to pay. I could be getting ripped off every time and I'd likely never notice.

I’m pretty sure we’ve all heard plenty of campfire stories revolving around grocery stores as of late but my last experience gave me a fucking migraine. I went to the grocery store and bought a modest amount of stuff between prepared meals, a salad, some snacks and some milk and bottled water and the bill was $248 for like 3 days worth of food at best. I hate shopping for groceries now. I leech so much money on food I feel like a dried up watering hole in an abandoned mining town

It’s just insane, isn’t it?. My wife and I were averaging 250 USD a week for groceries, but part of that is because we were spoiled and chose to shop at Publix (“Where Shopping is a Pleasure”…and it really is). We’re in the process of switching to Aldi which could save us at least $50 a week.

I've been going to a Grocery Outlet recently, which is like shopping in 2005, except with fewer choices about the things you buy. A full cart was $185 earlier this week, and that includes a freezer full of needlessly expensive vegan meats.

To me, my X-Men!

Awww, yeah. Slowly but surely.

Kaiju and in-hand photos are really selling me on the new Gambit. I want it, but I'm not really a big Gambit fan and I already have two of the first version.

I'm getting impatient with Hobby Genki. I ordered Gambit on the first and he still hasn't shipped. He looks great.

Several of those X-Men figures aren't nearly as good as I want them to be for the price*, but I'll be damned if they don't look great together. I'd love to see a similar pic with 90's Jean in the mix!

*But the OG Gambit makes up for the lot as he's one of my favorite figures of all time. Just perfect!

Agreed on all points!

I'm very tempted to eat my deposit on Rogue at BBTS. I have one in transit from Amiami. It's currently in the hands of USPS, tracking says "in transit, but arriving late". Because of course it is, that is the way with this figure.
I originally had two on preorder with hlj and canceled because of the tariff situation and then preordered from BBTS. I preordered another one at Amiami when things became a little more clear, but now I'm thinking about keeping one and the $100+.

My mindset is that once the money has left my bank account, it’s gone, so I wouldn’t think twice about stranding a deposit if it’s saving another $100 that hasn’t left my bank account yet.

Two years ago, I might have suggested you go through with your BBTS purchase because you could have made a nice profit flipping her six months from now, but between CT Toys, Mafex doing so many reissues, amd the lukewarm reviews, I wouldn’t do it unless you actually want two copies.

That or sell it immediately. I've done that before. I'd crosspost it with every selling outlet you can barring "robbery by appointment" meetup methods.

I probably should've waited to get one in hand, but I decided to cancel and I expect an extra $10.50 added to my check Trump is going to send out.

I was wondering if it was possible to get around the loss of a BBTS NRD by holding the item in my POL and then canceling. BBTS refunds in store credit after an item has been in your POL for a week or two. I'm not sure if they would deduct the NRD, though. Seems like they should give you the full amount in that case.

That's a good question. Definitely a loophole if they refund the full amount.
