Loyal Subjects MASK toy line

Here is my quickie review. It's awesome as F***!

Seriously though, I left mine in the box because that's how I wanted to display it. A girl I know got it and opened hers up, and I will say it is very sturdy and well made. Loyal Subjects did a great job especially for the price.

But I keep looking at mine and it looks so cool, and it gives me so many nostalgic feelings. You do find them in the girls toy aisle where the likes of Barbie and Brats are. Some folks think you find it in the entertainment section where the NECA, Nacelle, and Funko stuff is. But it's in the girls toy aisle. In America it's aisle L7. I don't know if that's how they number them in Canada.
It is possible that my two Walmart options just suck, but I also haven't seen it on the Canadian website or on marketplace.

I found a Jem on clearance for $14 a couple months ago. Possibly a return or they got a few pieces and put it right to clearance because it wasn't on the planogram. I've never seen her at any other Walmarts. The box was minty, so I haven't opened it. I figured, it looked nice in the box, why open it because it wouldn't compare to current dolls (the ones aimed at male action figure collectors).

To me she looks larger than 1/6 scale. Bigger than any Barbie style and action figure oriented dolls I've seen like Hot Toys, TBLeague, World Box, and various generics.

The MASK figures went up for pre order on more online retailers today. I know we could already order them from BBTS and Loyal Subjects, but now Amazon and Entertainment Earth are options. They seem to be charging higher prices though.

The way prices keep going up on everything, I'm worried this line won't make it too far. Wave 1 was already pricey, these new online retailers are charging more than BBTS and Loyal Subjects, and by the time Wave 2 can come out, they will cost even more than Wave 1's new higher prices at Amazon and EE.

If they are made well though, I guess it's better paying the Loyal Subjects prices than paying the crazy prices for the vintage MIB Kenner toys. But I don't know if these MASK figures by Loyal Subjects are made well or not. Some things I see on videos kind of concerns me about their quality.

At least with Amazon you know they'll discount the prices pretty quick, especially if these don't sell too well.

I forgot Scott and T-Bob are adding $50 to the price of an individual exclusive Rhino. I was thinking people might be better off waiting on Amazon because their price is at most only $10 more than the BBTS bundle. They still might be, if they don't care about those two or they can grab the originals off eBay.

Now that these are getting close to shipping, I'm starting to worry it'll be a waste of money. Those old 80s figures could survive nuclear fallout, they were durable as hell. Hoping these are made well enough to enjoy them.

I'm okay with these being pushed out. In case anyone didn't see the BBTS email.:

"We have an update from the manufacturer on pre-order arrival dates. To ensure every detail meets the high standards we all expect, production is taking a little extra time. As a result, the manufacturer has shared new estimated arrival dates.

Here’s the latest ETA for your collection:

Condor, Thunderhawk, and HTH: Expected to arrive at our warehouse in November

Regular MDU, Exclusive MDU, and Bundle: Expected to arrive at our warehouse in December

As the first retailer in the United States to offer M.A.S.K. products for pre-order, BBTS will receive priority from the manufacturer for product delivery. We know waiting isn’t easy, but we’re just as excited as you are to see these iconic pieces in person! We will continue to provide updates on delivery timing as the date approaches."

Thats cool with me. Both for breathing room, and so they make it as well as they can. I am excited to get these though. I'm excited to see someone full on review one of these too. I've seen the guys at Loyal Subjects show off the vehicles and their modes. But I'd like to see a fan/customer give their thoughts. Sometimes I worry about the action features and how durable they'll be.
