Last Series Watched

Just an aside back to Game of Thrones, just spent 5 days in Marrakech Morocco (which I recommend) and one day had a tour that included a stop at Atlas Studios (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atlas_Corporation_Studios) which is about 2 hrs from the city and where many of the scenes set in Essos were filmed. Another day hit the coastal town of Essaouira where a few more sequences were shot. Lots of films shot in those studios - Gladiator 1 and 2, Kingdom of Heaven, Kundun, etc.

Also on the back of the Game of Thrones discussion, can I just say how fucking excited I am for A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms? I LOVE those short stories, and I'd argue in some ways they're actually better than A Song of Ice and Fire. The new ("final") trailer just came out today since the show starts airing in January, and it looks phenomenal if you're more into the 'knights and courtly intrigue' side of GOT than the 'dragons and direwolves' side.

I'm generally more of a dragons-and-direwolves fantasy guy, but those were the least interesting parts of GoT for me.

I am -very- far behind on The Boys. The crushing misery of it got me tapped out at some point and I don't even remember when. Same thing happened with Sons of Anarchy. I don't think I finished that show until like 6 or 7 years after it went off the air.

I've rounded the corner onto S4 of For All Mankind and am still diggin' the shit out of it. The space scenes are THE SHIT ON WHEAT TOAST levels of good stuff.

I went from loving season 1 of For All Mankind to absolutely hating it by the end of S4. Kept watching until the end for some reason, hoping it could recapture any of what I liked from earlier in the series.

The wife and I finished A Man on the Inside Season 2 last night and we both really adore this show. It's very funny and very sweet. One of those shows where I hope it gets another season, but I also don't want them to drag it out to where it's forced to jump the shark to stay interesting.

I am incredibly conflicted over Welcome To Derry. It is absolutely some of the hackiest, ham-fisted dumb shit on TV this year in so many ways and yet despite that, I find it unfathomably entertaining. The film snob in me should be appalled but I've had a blast watching it the last couple of months, anytime our boy's around doing its thing, being a massive dick scaring and eating kids, it just works. Enjoyed it way more than the second movie and looking forward to whatever nonsense the 30s set S2 brings.

I'm real curious why this show had to swap release schedules with Peacemaker. It blew up DC synergy to swap these two and then the horror show missed horror season. Like, did they just not turn over the episodes? Were they just not done? This show has been in production SOOOOO LOOOOONG.

Superman had to release earlier than it should have on digital and then the Supergirl trailer would have dropped right as the Peacemaker finale aired. Made a lot more sense.

Makes me wonder if there will be a S2 of Derry - it's not currently renewed. Does it need one, or set one up? I don't need spoilers even though I doubt I'm ever touching this show, just curious.

Welcome to Derry wrapped up nicely if there isn't another season but there are still plenty of historical Pennywise incidents from the book to fill out a couple more seasons.

I believe it has been renewed for seasons 2 and 3.
