LAAT/i Gunship Haslab

LAAT/i Gunship

2,850 / 8,000 (+66) 35.63% of funding goal with 36d 19h left.

Still moving forward but sliding into the low backer count doldrums of the middle of the funding period. Also still hasn't reached the same number of backers as the first day for the Cantina.

If it can keep getting 75 to 100 a day I think it makes it at the end. But I assume that there is a bit more of a bump on weekends compared to weekdays in the middle of the campaigns...not yet but the next few weeks...

Actually the weekends, from what I have seen over the years covering Haslabs, usually have lower daily backer numbers than the weekdays. Also the numbers should start to peter out in the coming week. You are right that if the daily numbers stay in the high double digits, or low triple digits then it should fund no problem. However I think we'll start to see low double digit daily gains soon.

I hope I am wrong for those who want to get the Gunship.

Fascinating, would not have expected that. Thanks!

Still chugging along at an okay pace, but this week will be the telltale sign of which way it might go for the slow period of funding (the middle).

Snow C.A.T.

7,751 / 8,000 (+53) 96.89% of funding goal with 9d 19h left.

Getting closer, now let's see if it drops below 7,700 backers after the daily drop around 6am.

LAAT/i Gunship

2,968 / 8,000 (+55) 37.10% of funding goal with 34d 19h left.

This still hasn't hit the first day total of the Cantina. It is getting closer to that initial count, but still about 200 backers away from that. Let's remember the Cantina funded, and hit just over 14,000 backers (missing the final tier unlock). However this is going to be tough if it can't surpass the Cantina's first day total in two weeks.

Yeah I just don't know if this one is going to happen. Are 3000+ people going to jump in the last 4-5 days to get it over the hump?

LAAT/i Gunship

2,998 / 8,000 (+30) 37.48% of funding goal with 33d 18h left.

Still hasn't hit the first day total that the Cantina did (3,152). Also it is dropping further down to lower double digit daily gains which means it might start to settle at these low daily numbers for the next few weeks.

Anyway see you all in about an hour for the 6am EST backer drop.

LAAT/i Gunship

3,041 / 8,000 (+43) 38.01% of funding goal with 32d 19h left.

Still hasn't passed the first day total of the Cantina. It is moving forward still but needs some momentum.

Let's see what the backer drop is like at 6am.

Got sidetracked a bit but here is the backer drop update:

Snow C.A.T. - 7,812 (-54)

LAAT/i Gunship - 3,034 (-7)

This may be the first Haslab I’m really torn on. I backed it day one, no questions asked. But it has me questioning why this needed to be a Haslab in the first place. They released this ship several times in the past at retail. Granted times have changed and retail probably isn’t interested in a large vehicle at a high price tag when a $50-75 dinosaur of similar size is selling just fine.

This feels like it goes against what Haslab was created for - impossible dream projects. This already happened. Several versions were released already. Sure this is bigger and more detailed and accurate than ever before but does that mean it should have been a Haslab? Probably not.

I do think the price is the biggest thing holding this one back. And tariffs and other economic uncertainty may be inflating the price a bit. Maybe even looking at secondary market sales could be playing a factor. Sure, those that missed out originally would rather buy the big new one at that price but those that have the original $50 version, that might not seem as desirable.

I’m torn because I certainly want the item but it failing would send a message. Not sure if they will get the correct message but they’ll see something at least. This should have been a made to order fan channel exclusive. $300-350 seems like a sweet spot. Not sure if that is even a realistic price but $450 is excessive from our vantage point.

I’m uncertain this will fund but I’m pretty sure we’re not getting those Jedi, or at least not all of them. Coleman may squeak in if this funds but Kolar isn’t happening without something significant changing.

LAAT\i Gunship

3,065 / 8,000 (+24) 38.31% of funding goal with 31d 19h left.

Still hasn't equaled the first day total of the Cantina. The daily backer increase is also dropping and is now in the low double digits. There is a risk it could drop to single digit daily gains soon.

Sort of late 6am drop update:

Snow C.A.T. 7,944 (-35)

LAAT/i Gunship 3,062 (-3)

So it looks like the LAAT/i is a bit more stable with backers and isn't losing too many on a daily basis. That might change as the funding drags on and it doesn't look like it will fund.

The Snow C.A.T. didn't drop too much so only 56 backers to go until it is funded. Obviously I wouldn't call it just yet though because I'm sure there will be another loss of backers posted tomorrow. However if the Snow C.A.T. gets enough backers today it may not matter. I think it is fairly safe to say today is the day the Snow C.A.T. funds.

I'm pretty convinced at this point that the Star Wars team scrolled through eBay, saw the aftermarket prices and used that to help determine the price. The more I look at it, the more I'm convinced that in no way should this be $450.

But in a way I do think it's a bit of a dream project in that it's more a replica of an awesome ship than a toyified version, dumbed down for kids. I think it looks great and I'd love to have it, but the price is insulting to me, so there's no dilema on my part.
