Well here we go again:

LAAT/i Dropship:

1,242 / 8,000 (first update) 15.53% of funding goal with 44d 18h left. So this is not a good start but it doesn't mean it can't get across the finish line.

For comparison the Snow C.A.T. in it's first day (19 hours) had 5,173 backers (where the hell did everyone go since then?). The Cantina in the first day had 3,152 backers (more than double). And that ended at 14,737 backers. So there is no reason to worry just yet.

So the start is pretty slow. Still below where the Cantina was on the first day let alone the second day. And well behind where the Snow C.A.T. was on the second day. Just seems like this was not the kind of project people wanted for a Haslab. Guess we'll see but it may just squeak by funding at this rate.

Thanks for you service to the tracking cause @canprime.

I think this one might struggle - I wonder how many folks already have the original gunship(s), possibly even have a few in different decos. While this one is better and a bit bigger, will people want to add this to an existing gunship collection creating different sizes and levels of detail? I have a few gunships and don't see the need to upgrade - granted I might represent a small number of people, but those of use with long held collections are often the folks that tend to be backers of these big ticket items, especially when it is something never done before.

I think your last point is one of the big problems for this Haslab. It has been done before in multiple looks. Is the Haslab different enough to warrant someone backing? Or does it come off as an unnecessary new, and larger, version? Also those of us with long term, and large, collections have to worry about space and one of the problems with the Gunship (Dropship, whatever) is that it is a space eater. Mostly because of the wings.

Unlike the Rattler which the Classified team made a little more shelf friendly with the wings being able to fold up, this has no such feature and you have to make it fit as is.

Yeah, this one isn’t looking good numbers wise. The price is the biggest thing. Star Wars stuff has been overpriced for a while now and this is no exception. If this squeaks through, I doubt it hits all those Jedi tiers, making it even less of a value. I could see this pulling a a Rancor toward the end and start loosing backers when people realize it won’t unlock anything.

The item itself looks great! It’s something worthy of an update after all these years but I don’t think it should have been a Haslab. I get the need to lock in orders for such a large item but the made to order route marvel has been seemingly successful. The fact this has been done before kinda proves it’s not a ‘dream’ or ‘once in a life time’ item they couldn’t sell at retail (probably unlikely these days though). The others haven’t been done or at least done in the way they were in the Cantina’s case.

I’ve backed but I’m torn. I certainly want it but the price is rough and the likelihood of not getting the tiers seems high right now. If it fails who knows when we’ll ever see them attempt it again.

I’m also not sure what pivots or back up options Hasbro can do. If they ‘take it back to the drawing board’ before the campaign ends, can they bring it back later at a different (ie lower price) without people calling foul? Maybe if it’s in a post tariff world? Otherwise it confirms our thoughts of being taken advantage of on the price if the adjustments are minimal.

If they add more things to the base offering like gunners for the bubbles, is that enough? Does it also prove the price has too much padding in it? Why aren’t they included already? It’s a risky move adding anything for free.

It’s kind of is what it is at this stage. The overlapping with the SnowCat was a bad call, but I get that SDCC gets a lot of eyes on something in person. Waiting until NYCC would probably have been better for timing on 2 Haslabs. Probably wouldn’t change the reaction but might do better if people weren’t torn between 2 Haslabs at the same time.

I doubt they would ever pull a Haslab once the funding has started. They'll just let it ride and succeed or fail like a lot of previous Haslabs. Maybe if they hadn't started funding, much like what Mattel did with the first Snake Lair. then they might consider going back to the drawing board.

Anyway:

LAAT/i Dropship:

2,130 / 8,000 (+258) 26.63% of funding goal with 42d 18h left.

Well it is over 25% of the way to funding. So that's something. However this is a slow start, but maybe they can keep a higher daily average than most Haslabs have in the past. (I know not likely)

LAAT/i Gunship

2,339 / 8,000 (+209) 29.24% of funding goal with 41d 19h left.

Almost 30% funded, but still below where the Cantina was after the first day. Not sure how this one is going to go, but as of now it looks like it will be a tough go to get funded.

2,511 / 8,000 (+172) 31.39% of funding goal with 40d 19h left.

Slowly dropping the number of daily backers gained, and still below the first day total for the Cantina. At least the daily backers gained is still in the triple digits. The longer it can maintain that the better it's chances are of funding.

LAAT/i Gunship

2,607 / 8,000 (+96) 32.59% of funding goal with 39d 18h left.

First day since the funding started that it has gained backers in the double digits. Most likely double digit gains will be the norm for the long haul now. Still below the first day number of backers for the Cantina.

It’s crazy how this and the Snow Cat have under performed since last year’s campaigns. Not just slightly less than previously but dramatically. I think the Snow Cat will cross the finish line (probably not hitting all tiers) but I’m starting to get a Rancor vibe from the Gun Ship. Wonder what that will do to their ‘Battle of Genosis’ plans if the centerpiece doesn’t fund? I can’t help but feel the lack of support for the Cantina has played a factor. Some additional new cantina aliens would have really had people engaged and excited but having just reisssues hasn’t been what many wanted or needed.

LAAT/i Gunship

2,703 / 8,000 (+96) 33.79% of funding goal with 39d 18h left.

So in one week this Haslab still hasn't reached the first day total of the Cantina. The Cantina ended up with just over 14,00 backers. This one is going to struggle and it could go either way right now.

LAAT/i Gunship

2,784 / 8,000 (+81) 34.80% of funding goal with 37d 18h left.

On the positive side it is still gaining backers in the high double digits. On the negative side it still hasn't even hit the first day total of the Cantina. Lots of time left.

Has this been seeing the mysterious early morning drops in backers the Snow Cat is having or is that unique to the Snow Car so far?
