Jakks Pacific Simpsons

My Walmarts never seem to do restocks on this line ever. I had to get my Milhouse at ToyCon NJ.

I don't have a Macy's nearby anymore, but I'm tempted to run by one on the way to a concert I'm going to this weekend and see if that one has anything. Has anyone had any luck at the discount stores like Ollie's?
 
Of all places, I've had the most luck at Gamestop, and the prices are comparable with Walmart and Target. It's where I found Milhouse and a couple other of the tougher to find characters. Walmart and Target are hopeless around me at this point.
 
Don't think I've had any luck at GameStop; trying to think if I've seen a single figure there. I've had most luck at Target and Macy's, with a few unexpected finds at Five Below. Obviously I don't know the internal discussions going on at Jakks, and the line seems to be doing fine (aside from the absolute tidal wave of Barts clogging the shelf of every store I venture into), but I do agree that distribution is just so wacky that I'd imagine they'll wanna figure something out going forward. Distribution is the #1 complaint I hear with this line- I have a friend who's a huge Simpsons fan, and he's considering stopping collecting it because he just can't find the figures he really wants.
 
I got really lucky when the Marge wave dropped. Found everyone but Milhouse at a mall Target, then went into the Gamestop a few doors down and found Milhouse. I did check Macy’s over the weekend as I had some time to kill between dinner and a movie and found nada. It was a pretty sad sight all around. The Gamestop also had zero Simpsons. I’ll be in the vicinity of the better mall with the Target this weekend so I’ll probably pop in there for a look. The Target in my town has been sitting on two Homers and a Lisa for months with a random Krusty emerging this week. I’m guessing he had been in the back for awhile or something and was discovered during their recent reset.
 
I've only ever seen Simpsons figures at Target, and a couple times at Walmart. Had no idea Gamestop even carried the line, since I've never seen one there.
 
Fuck, man, they need to slow the fuck down.

I'm still missing 4" Milhouse, half the 2.5" figures including Krusty Burger, and currently have NO Deluxe figures (but want them all).
 
My Gamestop had a couple of the Deluxe figures, Krusty Burger, and 5" blue shirt Bart and baseball Homer. Not bad, really. I picked up Furious Homer and I might go back for other stuff at some point.
 
Found the small Ralph and 2 Grandpas at Five Below yesterday. Was in a bit of a hurry, so I didn't grab them (I already have them both), but if anyone is in need, I can stop by later and see if they still have them.
 
Got in my Grampa and Mrs. Krabappel from BBTS. Both really nice figures. I think they've done a great job of giving Grampa a characteristically outraged expression that still looks decent from the front view, which it's well-documented can be difficult for Simpsons characters. Also, in general, that they modeled him after the Old Man Yells at Cloud image; just fantastic.

Seeing that video, I'm a little glad I didn't spring for Troy McClure. The Playmates comparison is great, because it shows how the Jakks headsculpt looks too smooth. His face has to look like he's had a lot of work done, and Playmates captured that better. Troy's supposed to look a little more of a caricature than most of their character models. The huge teeth on the Playmates one really sell it.
 
I got Troy in along with Edna and Abe as well. The way they did Troy's eyes does, for me, give him a little bit of an aged look. I think it works well. And I am happy to see them giving characters more personality with the portraits as the actual Simpsons are just too sterile looking.
 

King Size Homer leaked

I guess he’s part of wave 6?
Wonder what this means for the Sick Homer figure that leaked a few months back.
Maybe we’ll get a Homer in wave 6 and 7.
 
All of those sitting on their Super7 King Size Homers better sell them now while the getting is still good!

I never got to see the Sick Homer. Was that 5"? I saw someone reference it like it was part of the 2.5" line.
