Jada Street Fighter

Speaking of alts, I got a shipping notification from EE and was like: WTF, I haven't ordered anything from EE in many moons. Forgot they had the alt Cammy look. I don't NEED every alt look in this line, but man I'll pick up every Cammy variation. She's just my favorite.

So I didn't look at the alt Cammy close enough before ordering her and holy shit, she is SO silver and SO SO PINK. But y'know what, I dig it, she's Cammy, I love her. Not even upset I probably overpaid for her. But the color swap is INTENSE.

Anyone pickup the knock off chun li that’s been going around lately?

Pricing is kind of dumb but it looks really articulated

I've been watching some reviews, this seems a bit overpriced. I think she was more like $90 for both parts which is still a lot. Poses nice, I've heard of the shoulders breaking. Personally I don't like the face, looks too much like a porcelain doll. But I did order some of the generics they're releasing from 5k:

I agree with all those points.

The face is a little too porcelain doll for sure

The blanks are cool and I’m not sure how well the Jada heads would work on the, but you could probably make decent customs using softgoods if you can get the head to work or are decent at painting.

I’ve seen printed skin suits for chun li’s alpha look on AliExpress, and canny would be easy. Lots of swimsuits out there

I've had that knockoff Chun-Li in my saved-for-later cart on BBTS for MONTHS. I just can't justify the price but I like the look a bit.

I’m considering picking up the blanks and taking a stab at painting the faces.

I can paint a 1/20 face pretty decently, but as the heads get better it’s harder and harder to make it look good… so a little not sure I can paint eyes at 1/12 well

Y'know, I finally got good at doing 28mm miniatures eyes. Somehow a 1/12 scale figure eye doesn't scare me anymore. After putting eyes on a tabletop goblin I reckon putting irises on Chun-Li wouldn't be nearly as stressful.

Larger than real life! (But yeah, when you have to add the pupil using the tip of a pin...)
My mans out her painting 1:1 Gollum Maquettes.

I certainly do not have the patience to do good Warhammer eyes.

But as they scale up there’s more about how the eye looks you need to think about to make it look good (imo anyway). I don’t know. Slowly talking myself into taking a stab at it. The blanks are pretty decently priced.

Also got the Jessica aster coming in this week so going to see if popping a Jada head onto one is even plausible. I’m betting the pegs are different sizes because… of course they would be lol

I was just talking with alt about the best way to get a Jessica Aster over in the Jada Cyberpunk thread. Been eyeballing that figure even longer than the knockoff Chun-Li, I think.

Jada Cyberpunk?

Radically different scales. Lore wise, it's because this is technically an original fanfic character where they rebuilt her combining her with Atom Smasher.

In that sense you could argue she is in scale but Lucy comes up to her chin.

Having eyeballed it in the past, I do think that the Street Fighter heads would look okay. The neck is a separate piece that pops out and it's a pain to get it into the head, even heated. Which is why I'm glad they included alternate necks. But I think you could finesse it. If you got the deluxe set, you will also have two mechanical necks and one flesh neck to help you, so you'll have a blank neck to work with.

Skin tone is going to be the biggest issue. Very pale.

This is the listing I ordered. Didn’t receive it yet… but seems reasonable (assuming it all comes in ok)
