Jada Street Fighter

So, now I think I'm going crazy, because I can't find it again, but a couple of days ago I saw a video on YouTube, and it was someone complaining about the Hasbro Maximum price by praising the price of the new Jada Sagat and Blanka. There appeared to be in hand pictures of the Jada toys, but I would swear the figures were alt colors. I thought it was crazy because it was a flesh tone/beige Blanka and I dont remember, maybe red shorts for Sagat. I thought it looked off... but i know those are valid alts from some of the SF games. Anyway it seemed super early for alt paint versions to be out for those figures already so not sure if they were customs? If they were they were very well done. Wish I could find the video again to know I didnt hallucinate it.

You didn't I came across that video, too and can no longer find it.
 
I'm an "open 'em up and toss the box" guy but I've been saving the packaging for these figures because I think they're great. However, now that I'm 11 figures deep I think it's time to say "thanks for your service" and recycle them. They're just taking up space in my garage.
 
Stopped in at a Target this morning and asked customer service to check the DPCI (323-08-0321) for any nearby stores showed stock for the deluxe figures and luckily enough one 15 minutes away did, so I drove down and got some help in electronics and the box was already sitting out on the pallet to be stocked today. Grabbed Sagat and Blanka, profusely thanked the guy for his help, and went on my way!

Both figures rock. Sagat is a definite improvement over the Figuarts and Blanka is a mild improvement (just because the Figuarts wasn’t that bad to begin with)

Joints on both are great, Blanka’s hair is super soft to not get in the way when you bend his head back, and both definitely feel like big chunks of plastic worth the extra $5.

I hope BBTS gets these two in reasonably fast like the previous wave because I notice an uptick in my Target visits around New SF waves. Unfortunately there's only Targets I think that are carrying. My Target in town seems to have been drooped after they clearances the first wave.

Even after all these what was Bandai thinking with short ass Sagat?

I never owned SHF Sagat, but I had Blanka and Chun Li which are both great figures. I did sell them, however, when Jada got rolling with their stuff. Their quality for 1/3 of the price was a no brainer.

I feel like Bandai has done this multiple times before. Makes a figure that’s half assed, it sells bad, then they kill the line. They did it with Bowser too for their Mario line, nice sculpt, but WAY too small, then killed the line before getting to the likes of Peach or DK.

At least they kill the line until they see the hype that a rival company is getting for their 6” SF line, then out of the blue after several years they’ll magically throw out a Guile figure.
 
I still haven't opened four I've been sitting on (Cammy, Guile, Ryu, Dhalsim). Waiting for Blanka to either hit my PoL or to show up at retail.
 
I wish Blanka and Sagat would hit my PoL soon. I have a bunch of figures I'm waiting to ship once they arrive. Since those two figures have been at Target for a while, I assume the full production runs have been in the US long enough that they missed the tariffs, and the delay is due to the agreement Jada has with Target.

I've seen a few in package images of Vega popping up online. Has anyone heard an update on when he'll go up for pre-order? Any updates on the characters after that? I think Juhn said Akuma is next.
 
I’m also waiting for Blanka at BBTS. But I won’t hesitate to buy him at Target if I find him.

I hope you get yours soon, they are awesome figures.

I have no connection to Juhn and Akuma, my Street Fighter love begins and ends with SF II, but I can't wait for Vega. I know their eventual Honda, Zangief, Balrog, and T Hawk will be incredible.
 
Picked up a few of these recently and man Jada really makes a nice toy for the price.

I think the faces are a little wonky but the joints poseability and the costume bits are about on par with like a SH Figuarts figure for a lot cheaper.

They honestly even compare pretty well with the Storm figures though obviously a lot smaller

Last I had heard a month ago via youtube was Vega, Akuma and then they didn't say anything past that.

I know just how this sounds...

but I saw these exact packages in a dream when I was in sixth grade.
maybe 1993? i swear to GOD.

The black color, the buttons, the shape of an arcade cabinet. It truly frukked me out when I first laid eyes on the boxes.

This dream happened waaaay back when when they first announced that there would be street fighter action figures...no photos at all, just a weird "coming soon!" blurb. Those turned out to be the GI JOE SF figures. : (

in my minds eye, I envisioned something pretty close to what we actually got in the present day : 6'' figures with clip on hadokens etc. Except I imagined the five points of articulation scheme, and some kind of action feature, kicking, punching, spring loaded waists etc.(the concept of super articulation wouldn't be approached again until 2001 or so with Spiderman classics)

I think I read this in the instructions to SF2 for the super nintendo?
 
While inaccurate, I had a bigger problem with Sagat's Jersey Shore spray tan than his stature... 😅

But happy the Jada is much better in both aspects.

I definitely have to wait for BBTS. I have store credit there, but no money here in my wallet/bank account, lol.
