Hulk Deluxe/Retro Wave

I think swappable hair would be a great idea. I mean even for this latest smart hulk figure, that version of the hulk had at least 4-5 different hairstyles depending on the artist. He had a bowl cut, top mop, middle part and back swept and on occasion, clean cut/side part. I could see Hasbro not wanting to waste the resources when it comes to making up to 5 unique heads for this version of the hulk. But a couple extra hair pieces? Sure, why not??

Hulk 2099 shipped from Amazon today, so I should have it shortly. Its part of the late June product dump that seems to be happening, but I'm excited to add him... Miguel was getting lonely as the only 2099 Legend on the shelf

I had that on pre-order but cancelled it. He's not a character I'm burning to have, even though I would like to boost the 2099 section. I think I may play the long game with him. And if it never happens, no skin off my nose.

I love the character from when I read the book the first time and did a reread a few years ago. However, I think I'm going to have to stick to Spidey and the X-Men. Maybe Doom. Maybe Ghost Rider. Maybe...

I dunno what it is. Marvel or DC, classic or modern, or whatever it is in between, I’ve always dug the alternate reality stuff outside the mainline universe. Parallel worlds, divergent timelines, alternate futures, I love it all.

From Earth 2 to 2099 to the Absolutes, I’m in for all of it in figure form. Sometimes this is not a popular opinion. I understand that. But it doesn’t alter the fact that these are some amazing, compelling designs that make great action figures. And keep it interesting.

I agree but as long as these kinds of stories are done in moderation. All too often these comic publishers will take a good idea and inevitably run it into the ground because they see more dollar signs than fatigue and it drives me nuts. I haven’t read a single issue of any Absolute title because I can already see the signs of over saturation starting to occur

Yeah, I know. All these concept imprints will eventually crash and burn. I’m more into the overarching idea. A good writer can make one comic into a universe. All Star Squadron by Roy Thomas, LSH by Paul Levitz and many others, Gotham by Gaslight, and more. I love Kingdom Come and definitely want an in universe follow up even if it’s without Waid and Ross. Flashpoint as a universe, not just an event, is a very interesting place. I always thought “Titans Tomorrow” was genius. An amazing, intricate setup from Geoff Johns without any follow up so far. That’s what I’m talking about. And if that gets us some Absolute figures, I’ll be OK with that.

Hulk 2099 arrived from Amazon this afternoon and he's good at being what he's supposed to be. I'm happy to have him and add him to the shelf. It does make me want more 2099 characters - especially some X-Men 2099... I would love to have those guys in my dispaly again

Hulk 2099 is a character where my temptation to pick him up is directly proportional to how many potential companions he has. With just Spider-Man 2099 I'm not that interested, but if the rumored Doom comes through and they announce 2-3 more 2099 universe characters I'd be a lot more keen.

We would need a few more releases than what we have to justify the existence of another thread. That vein has barely been tapped
I’ve gotta admit that my interest here is…uneven. I find the Spider-Verse absolutely fascinating. I’d love more figures from 2099 and MC2. Even Earth X. I love the Guardians of the Galaxy and Killraven. Squadron Supreme still holds up 40+ years out. I’d likely buy ‘em all. Lots of fun factor.

But then we get to the X-Men. Days of Future Past, House of M, Age of Apocalypse, and all the other time traveling/dimension hopping nonsense leaves me equal parts confused and bored. I literally don’t know what to make of it. And the Ultimate titles always seemed like a do over without all the dead weight continuity of the 616. Only series I read was the Ultimates and that was based on the strength of the creative team.
