Hulk Deluxe/Retro Wave

I got hulk 2099 yesterday too and color me impressed. I don’t give two flying figs about the character but the figure is damn good. Between this figure, the new abomination, the two Joe Fixit hulks, classic grey, upcoming Professor Hulk and even the Maximum Hulk…never thought in a million years that I would be eating this well as a “hulk fan”, and the character might just take up O.2% of my collection in terms of toys and comics combined

I hope they keep going.

Realistically Mecha Hulk could happen because people liked the Hulk Classics version.

Bi-Beast is on the radar. He was prototyped once upon a time and was included in the 5" video game line

I hope Zzzax makes the cut. He was in the 5 inch line, but its limited reuse potential so 🤷

Ironclad was also in that old video game line, but it would be a bummer to get Ironclad and not the rest of the U-Foes

Original costume Moonstone was a Hulk character, so maybe?

I know some people want Leader... I'm good with the one I've got, but he's probably inevitable.
 
I swear the leg on my Mecha Hulk was broken shortly after I got him. He must have some sort of self-repairing system because it was totally fine when I pulled it out of storage a decade and a half later. Yes, that's the most reasonable explanation and no, I couldn't have misremembered!
 
I’m kinda hoping for an End Hulk redo. The old one doesn’t hold up well with the new guys.

And keeping this line open ended opens up a huge number of possibilities for “bruiser league” characters. I’m also a big fan of Xemnu’s contemporaries. Monsters from the 50’s/early 60’s pre Fantastic Four #1. Some are Hulk size. Others would have to be Dragon Man sized which would be the perfect opportunity to redo Fin Fan Foom.

Venomized hulk would be fun. Though if we are really seeing a reinvention of the 90’s hulk line, I kind of want a Rage Cage Hulk

YES. Hulk needs monsters to batter.

If you want a kick-off point Hasbro, incredible Hulk Annual 5 would do nicely. Xemnu assembles an army of monsters to tackle the Hulk in sequence - Diablo (smoke monster), Taboo (mud monster), Groot and Blip (electricity monster). And then has a crack at Jade Jaws himself.

We already have Xemnu, but a more monstrous Groot and a couple of elementals would look great. Blip is pretty much just Zzzax under a different name, so I’d happily take either.

Dwight did shout out Zzzax during the last fan stream so at least he is being mentioned. Doesn't mean anything will happen, but it is out there from the lead desiginer.

Yep. Wholly American Kaiju. No connective tissue to its Japanese counterpart whatsoever. Gods, monsters, aliens, and extra dimensional beings created by one American publisher using primarily the talents of two amazing artists. Kirby and Ditko. Can you imagine a big budget monster movie without using Godzilla or Kong? Unfortunately, I can. It’s glorious. But unlikely to happen with the current regime at Disney/Marvel. A regime seemingly hell bent on destroying the superhero genre and the Marvel brand by sheer cluelessness.

Whatever. Shouldn’t stop Hasbro from making figures. Xemnu is one of my overall favorite Marvel Legends.
 
I love the Xemnu figure dearly. He's what I use to remind myself how much I adore the line when I get petulant about bizarre character selection choices.

It's a shame that wave seemed like (anecdotally) it was a fairly slow seller, because I would have loved for it to have set a template: annual bad guys wave with 2-3 heavy hitters, 2-3 fan-favorite C-listers, an army builder, and a Hulk villain as the BAF.
 
Thought Id post a couple quick pics of how much bigger and longer 2099's arms are, along with his calf muscles. I really do like this figure more than expected, but I think Hasbro cheaped out on the torso, not giving it the texture of the arms and butterfly joints so it can be reused for other figures in the future.

Man I want all the characters you mentioned so bad! Also like you, I'm very happy with the Leader I have.
