Not sure where else to put this, but apparently this is happening.

It's Hasbro, so I'm not expecting much. If their Dungeons and Dragons offerings are any indication, I can't anticipate us getting much out of the line past one wave, consisting of Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, and MAYBE a Blanka.

And yet, no MK movie toys...

I desperately want them to not pretend like they’re fucking NECA over here and try and make movie accurate versions of the characters, this ain’t the fuckin’ MCU no one’s clamoring for a screen accurate version of some nepobaby with a bad dye job as Ken for their collection… embrace tradition Hasbro: reuse GI Joe Classified parts!

Give us the modern Street Fighter (1994) line we deserve! Pack a repaint of Mamoa Blanka with another Hiss Tank repaint, give Zangief a pet bear! Cover Ryu in tacti-cool arm and shin guards!!! Just make Street Fighter GI Joes and don’t pretend like this is a real movie deserving a serious toy line.

Edit:
Also I feel the need to clarify I’m not doing a bit here, I would buy the shit out of Street Fighter Classifieds

I have a Quarrel and Flint (I think? I don’t remember Joe names super well) 2 pack I modded to put Fei Long ans Cammy’s heads on to be Captain Swada and well, Cammy. I got a cheap Classified Spirit to be Movie T Hawk since he was a regular sized guy and they’re hanging out with Blue Guile, Red Chun-Li, and a topless Ryu as my “Street Fighter: the movie” collection.

I keep looking over various storm shadows and red ninjas and cobra toppers to see if I want to make a more toy line styled “movie” Ryu and Ken or maybe a Bison or Dee Jay… I keep fighting the urge to buy that gymnastics instructor Sgt. Slaughter to make Guile more Joe styled but have to keep telling myself Blue Guile is good enough… this dumb desire for bad Street Fighter: the Movie toys has lead my wife to have to talk me out of buying a $12 Black Series New Hope Princess Leia “because I could mod the dress a little and put Cammy’s head on her… so she’d look like Kylie in the ‘Can’t get you outta my head’ video!”

If Hasbro wants to cut out the middle man and just say “yeah, we’re using the cast of the new movie because it’s easier to license but this is an updated Street Fighter as part of GI Joe line”…

All the Money!

Like I’ll go from someone who causally admires GI Joe announcements and says “oh cool! I don’t collect military but that’s a nice figure!” To a day one all in pre-order guy!

That's interesting. I wouldn't have expected Hasbro on these movie SF figures. I buy a lot of Hasbro stuff, but I can't see myself jumping on these. I'm personally more of a Mortal Kombat guy. I've bought all of the Jada Street Fighter stuff so far just because they're so good and am open to trying to some of the lower cost point Storm Collectibles stuff at that same scale.

For the MK movie, I'm kind of expecting McFarlane to do some of those. He's hinted at an announcement coming after Toy Fair, I won't be surprised if it's that (or more Dune movie figures). I'm looking forward to both fighting game movies. These are exactly my kind of guilty pleasure. I won't see them until they hit streaming, of course - but still looking forward to them. Marvel is the only thing that I still go the movie theater for and even that may be in question going forward.

As much as I appreciate Street Fighter finally getting more figure exposure and recognition, Jada and Storm are already KILLING IT with the video game figures, and Hasbro should've done it long ago (looking at you GamerVerse MvC line...). Unfortunately, I have no interest in the movie-style looks, like most of the people here would probably agree. These will not go over well.

I am very interested in the movie, and I will support the line (wish they'd revisit the first movie from 1993, as well). But I am not expecting much from this line at all.

Hasbro loves doing one and dones.
