Hasbro possibly doing Tron?

As I didn't see it, I have to wonder if Hasbro could/would/should have advertised this project before Ares. For a billion-dollar company they're completely worthless for preaching their products beyond the choir; and the Tron choir is tiny even in the already-small toy collector congregation.

Who are these people that are taking the time to go through the checkout process for something that is so clearly not happening? I realize it's only a few minutes (although we're talking Hasbro Pulse here ...) but they have to realize this is a spectacular failure.

As for advertising, I think the majority of folks that would slap money down on the table for this know it's happening. This is so much like the Republic Gunship campaign — a great offering placed at a ridiculous price point. While that had a legion of Star Wars fans, many of whom were hand ringing about whether there'd ever be another Vintage-scale Haslab if they didn't buy the gunship whether they really wanted it or not, this one has fans taking a more level-headed approach and it really shows how out of touch they are on pricing.

I really hope this happened but also why didn't *this* happen?

There are so many things that could have helped this project be more than it is creatively - lights, a red car, black light paint is a cool idea - and Hasbro just went nah, we want $260. And now they'll get zero.
Had to check in on this campaign that I'd largely forgotten was still going. 1,100 of the most devoted Tron fans bespeckling the Earth.

I think the main takeaway for Hasbro will be to get rid of more staff and hand this property over to the GI Joe team or what remains of the Marvel guys, not that this was a glaring thumb in the eye of collectors.

The Rancor Keeper sends his regards.

And 'before Ares' as in... like a filmed advertisement played before the movie? Because that would have cost more than they're asking for in the HasLab.

I'm thinking he mean advertise it online and on streams before the movie came out, not IN theaters.
