Lots of companies are failing at it nowadays but it's still the overall best scale for the sweet spot of sculpting detail and articulation in figures and reasonably-sized and detailed/playable vehicles and playsets. 6in scale offers a drastic paucity of support for such things especially compared to how much 18th stuff already exists for 18th collectors to use with new stuff.
