Hasbro Made-to-Order Figures

Mine arrived this morning (expected delivery date: 30th, hah) but I've been busy with work, plus I thought I might save it for tomorrow.

Special mention once again to my delivery dude for delivering to my 'safe place': AN OPEN AIR COMMUNAL STAIRWELL IS NOT A SAFE PLACE, YOU MUPPET.

Guess I should be thankful he found the right building this time, hrrm.

Granted they have gotten more pricey but I see this as a case of “if not now, when?” Rather than just the typical FOMO. Large scale sentinels, particularly with this design is a one of a kind thing and it’s rare to see sentinels like this with this level of articulation, details that match the design perfectly and of course the size. I say grab a few more while you still can. Because once they’re gone…who knows when this kind of item is available? We’ve only seen 19 sentinel figures in the last 30 years and that includes the two Nimrod figures.

Saw this in a shop recently and the ice slide was completely yellowed - and it's only four/five years old? Maybe it's this particular shop, but a lot of their Iron Studios statues have age discoloration issues which makes me not interested even though the sculpts are dynamic.

Has that happened to anyone who owns these?
 
Does the shop have lots of natural light near its placement?

Or is it shared with other spaces? I used to know a comic shop in Phoenix that was next to a restaurant with a deep fryer and all the smoke went through the vents and got into everything. You didn't notice it when you were there, but once it was in your car or home, it was easy to trace. Left layers on product boxes/bubbles, too.

You're in good company. Nothing gets randomly broken/destroyed when there are no visitors. When I see someone else's collection I never touch anything unless it's handed to me / offered. I may bend down to get a better look but never touch. This is why they always have the signs at Comic Cons and Museums asking people not to grab stuff.
 
Checked the stock level on the Pulse Sentinel and it went up at some point. It was around 2100 when I checked last week, but right now it's at 4908 units. So I guess it will hang around well into at least January.

I'm not that surprised. I figured the counts would change at some point as they went through fulfilling orders.

This is kind of unprecedented for Hasbro’s standards for new releases. We see popular items sell out all the time but the fact that they have to keep restocking the sentinel tells me

A) it’s a wildly popular product amongst the toy collecting space

B) Collectors are buying multiples for themselves or they’re being spread around to be opened under the tree today.

Regardless Hasbro has to at least sold close to 25,000 units so far between last October and now. If this keeps up we could be seeing some big numbers. One would hope that they sell so many that they just keep it stocked into perpetuity and the ordering cap goes away.

This is one of those where they may have intentionally well overproduced orders because they knew they would sell through eventually.... or there were a crap ton of cancellations or failed credit card hits... or all of the above. I still plan to stick to just my original two that I pre-ordered unless they somehow eventually miraculously hit more than a 50% discount. LOL! I bought 4 HasLab Sentinels, I don't need to go that crazy again.
