Whenever I get a package, the UPS/FEDEX driver just hurls it over the fence into my enclosure. If I happen to be in lockdown at the time, my zookeeper will set it aside for me.
I hate it when the package lands in the moat and gets all soggy.
That suuuuuuucks.
Did you at least bang on the door and shout, "COME OUT WITH THE DRAGON MAN AND NO ONE WILL GET HURT!!"??
He was lucky - if one or our two missing packages hadn't still been sitting on his porch, I would have suspected foul play. As it was, it was just a very confusing situation - the delivery photo
definitely showed the package there, but now it was gone, while the second package was still there. Weird.
Normally I'd give a missing package a few days to turn up before worrying about it, but with DM being made to order I didn't mess around. I called FedEx - their automated system literally refused to let me talk to anyone (SO. FRUSTRATING.) and told me to call the seller. I called Hasbro Pulse after FedEx was no help; after I explained the sitch, the Pulse rep put me on a brief hold - then came back on the line to tell me they wouldn't be contacting FedEx to try to find the package, and there was no extra inventory available to replace it - so they had already initiated a refund of my order! I asked several times if there were other options, or if they could hold the refund just in case the package was returned and they could reship it, or if anything else could be done - but he told me he had already escalated it to his manager and that was that. I didn't want a refund - I wanted Dragon Man!
Very, VERY fortunately, a few hours later a different neighbor that I don't know knocked on the door with my package. It had somehow been delivered to a second incorrect house somewhere in our area - no idea where, but not close, because the guy drove it over. Besides the shipping box being a little beaten up and very soggy, all was made right. And, I'm almost embarrassed to admit, I guess I got Dragon Man for free. I couldn't believe how quick they were to initiate a refund without me wanting one, or even trying to get FedEx to fix it for them.
The moral of the story is - watch that tracking like a hawk, because if it goes missing you might be SOL. I'm hoping that general Hasbro customer service has some extra inventory for replacing defective sets, but there's no telling. Almost makes me want to order a second Mephisto *just in case*.
