Hasbro Made-to-Order Figures

Mephisto finally showed up today in this blazing heat we're having. Gotta say didn't think we'd ever get him but glad to finally add him to the collection. I can deal with it being slightly more modern and no definitive classic with the pink face and the pointed boots.
Only issue I seem to have lately and I swear it's a FedEx thing is that they can't seem to deliver correctly. Third time it's happened, twice to the wrong apt door where I live and the doors and mailboxes on each porch are clearly marked with the number. Won't even go into the third time it just stresses me out. Ok enough ranting.
Who's soul will this Devil try to collect in what bargain.
 
Got my Mephisto and he's been sitting on my desk for a bit this evening. Gotta be honest, this feels like a very standard ML figure that got packed in as an accessory to the throne rather than the figure being the main feature of the bundle, and I'm already thinking of giving him hooved feet and wings to make him feel a bit more 75-quid-value than he does..

But when has he had either? He's your figure so you do you, I just don't remember him ever being drawn with either of them.

Oh probably never, the only comic with him in it that I’ve ever read was Brand New Day and I thought that was naff, I just want a good devilish figure and he’s kinda plain in hand. I’m slightly missing how gruesome the Select figure was by comparison, with its sickly paint apps, but I sold that years ago and just kept the throne.

I’m sure he’s had both at some point given that he’s a shape shifting devil type, but I agree that I don’t consider either important in depicting him in figure form. Would have been a cool add-on, but not critical.

Another cool addition would have been a more monstrous head as he has appeared many times - most prominently for me in 80s Daredevil and the Marvel Knights Black Panther run.
 
Honestly, I would totally buy a Mephisto in a suit and tie. lol He actually looks good, that way. Surprisingly, kinda like Ulik did, back when he appeared that way, way back in the end of issue #1 of Marvel Knights, back in 2000/2001 ish.

Considering Hasbo's history I'm sure they'll get us a deluxe, single release of Blackheart in the next couple years.

He's probably gone up a little bit in price on the secondary market since Mephisto was released because of their relationship but I imagine it will settle down in the next month or two, and crater once they get to a deluxe release.

Exactly what I was gonna suggest. Gamerverse is a nice little workaround program to get characters in who were prominent in games but not necessarily as prominent in the broader comic world.
 
I got Mephisto in on Wednesday and opened him up this afternoon. I couldn't figure out what color he was based on the in-hand photos. He's got an orangey-red afterspray to him. If I were doing paint detailing, I'm not sure it would've been my first choice, but it doesn't look bad.

The throne is gorgeous. It takes up more real estate than I had anticipated, and I wish the sides were a tad lower so he could lean back more naturally, but it's a nice piece. I had no intention of displaying him with it, but after getting it, I can't imagine going without it. It's going to require some creative blocking in my Marvel villains display (sans X-Villains). The base takes up like an eighth of that shelf.

Mephisto himself is in the 90th percentile of Marvel Legends figures. I wish they had given him a second ball joint at the waist, but he's nearly perfect otherwise. My design solution for the loincloth is Velcro on the soft goods version and pegs into the crotch and ass on the plastic version. It's a tricky one.

I don't think this will be the case for long (hello, Maximum Thor and Jada Invincible), but he's my figure of the year by a light year as of now.

Same thing happened to me with Mephisto and Black Bolt/Triton 2 pack.
