Harvinger Studios, Savage Crucible

Got the notice for the Blackstone Conan going up tomorrow. Maybe it's for the VIP list only?
I got it too.

Anyway, I post it here mainly because it is where @Damien is found and I want to know why the special edition version includes a six shooter.
You can tag me anywhere, technically.
All the weapons included with the special edition that aren't included with the regular edition are the weapons belonging to the other characters from the comic this Conan is based on: Battle of the Black Stone. That's why Solomon Kane's staff is in there, for example. Weird decision, because it seems to telegraph right away that all those other characters are off the table. But what do I know.

I didn't even realize that was Kane's staff. I guess I'll have to find time for that comic.

He looks cool and Crucible compatible. Maybe?

The figure is based on art from Conan: Battle of the Blackstone. The story tried to tie a bunch of R.E.W. characters together in the same story. A bunch of the accessories belong to the other characters.

Edit:
To no one's surprise, @Damien has answered the call quickly.

The comic was decent. It made me interested in the other characters (I was familiar with most of them already).
I wasn't originally going to get this one, but Robo's review really sold me on it.

Wait..... what?
The Archer episode "The Papal Chase" Archer says he's worried about the Swiss guard because they're all using halberds. When Lana points out those are ceremonial, Archer agrees because they were made obsolete by the arquebus. Typing it out, I realize it's not the straight-line it was in my head. Something about Archer's specific pedantry reminds me of you talking about swords 'n' shit.
Respectfully.

Oooh! As big an Archer fan as I am, I did not remember that part at all.

That was also my first thought, but I suppose technically it could go in the other direction, that they've tooled all these unique weapons already to prepare for their solo releases but wanted to squeeze a bit of extra money out of them by throwing them in this deluxe pack? Unlikely though.

I would kill for a Dark Agnes but I would want her to scale with the Mezco Solomon Kane and Conan rather than these 7-inch Conans we've been getting. And that Mezco Kane is pretty much a perfect figure imo so I'm not too interested in getting a new version of him.

He won't be Crucible compatible in terms of part-swapping, unless it's by coincidence. Almost all the joints are completely different to SC. But he looks like he'll scale well with them, and his overlay clothing and accessories should probably be fudgeable with crucible figures.

I ordered the Heroic Signatures Conan, but went with the regular edition because I just don't need those other character's weapons if I don't have figures of them. I'm fine saving $10, and not getting as fancy of a box. They've indicated that, if this Conan figure does well, they may do other REH characters in the line as well (Kull and Solomon Kane have been specifically mentioned). I'd love to at least get Solomon Kane, since Mezco screwed me on their version.

Possible? But I'd be very surprised, since that's kind of a reverse to what we generally expect. Unless all those characters are literally right around the corner and this is basically a 'pre-re-use.' Tooling is the expensive part. Tooling up all those accessories 'just for later' without the offset to the cost of actually selling entire figures to go with them? Would definitely be a weird way to do it. But by the same logic, it's weird to do it even if you -aren't- going to make all those figures because you're still paying for the tooling and deco on a bunch of accessories that, quite honestly, probably don't move the needle for very many collectors.

I bought the deluxe because, for $10, that's quite a few nice accessories.
Oh, for sure. But if that deluxe set didn't exist, how many people would have just skipped Conan entirely, like 'nah, if only there was a more expensive deluxe version with a few extra weapons that don't even belong to this character!' I imagine probably like... none. Not to say no one cared about or bought the deluxe. They absolutely did. I'm only saying 'if they hadn't done that AT ALL, would it have negatively impacted sales?' I don't think so.
