Harvinger Studios, Savage Crucible

I'll take back my feeling like I got duped in that case - I actually like the figures I got from them (one of the few indie lines that feel like I could accidentally drop a figure down a flight of stairs and not have it break!) though I think I have pretty much all I need from that line. If their next wave of figures ever hit I do kinda want the fox dude but that's about it. And only because I will always buy a fox dude if I see one.
Spero is also doing that line of samurai figures they showed off -- I think the first time was at PowerCon? I dunno. They looked cool, though.

Exactly that. It's got a remarkably good range back and forward, and is smoother than a lot of bicep swivels out there. Makes me wish they had this design for Dark Wolf. And I Frazetta could do a Sonja because I haven't found one I truly love yet, so I'm curious how they'd handle it.

I'm hoping Savage Crucible gets into female figures soon and can do a Sonja. They'd fuckin' kill it.

I have both the LooseCollector and Boss Fight Red Sonja figures. The overall sculpt on LooseCollector is nice, but the chest is ridiculously big, and she can't remain standing for shit. The BFS Sonja is really nice, though VERY fidgety (I'm very happy I found her on sale at my LCS, as I'd be really annoyed if I'd paid full price). While they both are decent enough, I don't feel either are anything close to a definitive representation of Sonja. It would be fantastic if Harvinger could take a crack at her. I'd really love to see what they could do with her.

Im 100 percent with you guys on Sonja. Never was very happy with LC's, and I feel the same s you guys on Boss Fights version - Harvinger most certainly would kill it when they get to the females, but honestly I'd love to see a FG Sonja. Their female body sculpt looks great and works very well. I'm just not sure if Frazetta ever painted Sonja, so chances of that are probably nil.

Yeah, I don't think Frazetta ever did a painting of Sonja. Guess we'll have to wait until someone does a compatible line of Boris Vallejo figures....or until Savage Crucible decides to do their take on her.

I'm going for the traditional fighter/rogue/wizard/cleric party, but when I first started this venture, I wanted to do what you're proposing. Maybe I will eventually. I'm not a customizer, and, as you mention, finding an appropriate library of bodies would be difficult at any scale.

I should be working smarter, not harder. Just base all my future D&D characters on action figures I already own.
Hold on, I can just use Thraice for my campaign figure.

Ingenious.

Ah, I hadn't seen wave 3 until now. I'm a mixture of bummed and relieved. I'm bummed because I like more human or furry characters as opposed to scaly for whatever reason, so I'll probably be skipping all these. I'm relieved because I've been spending too much money already this year.

Yeah fish warriors are definitely not going to be everyones cup of tea! Im not sure I would have grabbed them at $50 each - but the all-in Kickstarter prices were too good to pass up, so they'll end in my collection. They do look like fun figures and the d-amazing review on one of the prototypes sold me pretty well.

I love Lovecraftian stuff, but it feels like you NEED to army build Deep Ones / sahuagin / murlocs so this wave gets expensive fast. I do love creepy bastards who crawl out of the ocean at night and worship mad gods though.

Got both and feel exactly the same way. the boss fight one I find works better without the shoulder armor even though the shoulder armor SHOULD look cool, and the skirt is designed to ensure she will absolutely flash everyone everywhere all the time. I like the skin tone on the LooseCollector one more, too, BF is too clean. Everyone knows Sonja is perpetually filthy and sunburned, right?
