Harvinger Studios, Savage Crucible

@altcunningham I wish I had any to sell. My entire SC collection is four figures right now. But if you and @docsilence do want to grab some - there's still some lizards available last I checked. And the remaining stock of the human-body characters will be put up for sale on August 1st - on the official store at SavageCrucible.com I'm trying to see if after everything else I can afford to go in for at least one or two more. Plus I definitely want to get some fish people when those come out.

Cannot say often enough how strongly I recommend these to fans of Mythic Legions, as I genuinely think these are better toys.

I am a fucking terrible photographer grabbing a very quick pic of the display above my computer monitor in a poorly lit room at almost 10pm. But look at this shit. Look at how the Frazetta Warrior is holding that sword. His left arm is almost completely across his body - that's not a trick of the photography or anything. These guys are fuckin' great.

edit: I should add that Nashorn is not wearing the armor he comes with. The front of the belt, chest armor, and pauldrons are from the Raider accessory pack, as is the scroll thing pegged onto his right hip. The translucent sword is one of the 'secret accessory' pieces that come with every figure. And both lizard dudes are using accessories from the lizard dudes accessory pack.

Ah sorry, man, I just meant give me the pitch for which figure speaks to your soul that I should check out. We share a similar position on mythic, so to have you hyped about this goes a long way.

Ooooh, I get'cha.

My heart truly goes with swords and barbarians (when knights aren't available), so even though it can be a little more basic than the other figures; I fucking love the Ball-and-Chain Warrior. But since it's a licensed Frazetta figure with a wired cape, it's also the most expensive when you can find it.

Nashorn is pretty amazing too, though. He's got kind of Darth Vader x Skeletor vibes.

The lizard guys are awesome and I said as much back when I first got them quite a while ago now. But I like my monsters as ancillary toys to other things, so it was hard for me to get excited about them specifically. But I LOVE them up there flanking Nashorn as his creepy lizard-people bodyguards.

That being said; I'm probably more excited about Elric than I am about anything I currently have or anything else currently announced. Fully decked in black plate armor - an entirely new sculpt not overlay pieces - and one of my favorite fantasy characters? Bring it on.

I feel like I'm not being helpful here.

My one complaint on those Series 2 figures is that I cannot get them to stand easily. The lizards with the new feet (what a rock star move to send free replacement feet) stand great.
I agree that Ball-And-Chain Warrior is the standout.

I haven't had an issue with that, but I did have to work the ankles a lot to get them to move well, and they're a little looser than I'd like in 'flat-foot' poses. Not enough that they fall down, but too easy to move, in my opinion. Warming them up and really getting the rocker articulation moving is what helped me a lot in getting them standing.

@Damien bullied me into checking these out so I'm here.

Things I could easily Google but can ask here with even less effort:

1. What scale are these?
2. What's going on with the knees/elbows? Are they basically ugly single joints?

1. What scale are these?
1:10-ish. The humans are about 7". I can try to snap a picture tomorrow of a 6" and a 7" figure on the shelf with them for scale.

2. What's going on with the knees/elbows? Are they basically ugly single joints?
They're kind of ugly double joints? I think NECA used a similar system on some of their figures. I swear movie Casey Jones had this type of elbows and maybe they did this with one of the April figures for the knees?. Some import figures as well. I actually find it's less ugly than traditional double joints (and uglier than traditional single-joints).
In my opinion they're most noticeable on notConan because it's all bare skin, and less so on the figures with all the armor covering the lower part of the joint from the front.

I don't think I've mentioned that below the knee is one of the modular points. So the armor on Nashorn and the Lizards' shins, for example, isn't a separate armor piece slid onto the shin. It's the actual shin piece. You can pop it apart there. So I could, for instance, pull all these apart and have notConan wearing Nashorn's golden greaves and Nashorn wearing the black lizard dude's snake armor greaves, and so on. Same goes for the forearms.
Both the lizards also come with unarmored versions of their shins and forearms, in case you want to strip them down for a more feral look, you can turn them into naked lizard people.

Ah, okay. I didn't think they had the range of those NECA/import figures.

I do like this Bugbear guy.

Depends on the figure and the equipment. The elbows have lots of range, but it can be hindered by the combination of big manly biceps and any forearm armor. So far I think the worst ROM due to the bicep/big vambrace interaction is still over 90 degrees, though.

I like the idea of bugbear guy but not the implementation, myself. Back when these figures were first shown off during the Kickstarter, I went on at length about this, but the short version is that I fucking despise his armor design. Looking at it enrages me.
And like a crazy person I'm still considering trying to get one because I want to use his pants on a different figure (that I also don't have and need to try to buy on the 1st).

All the talk in this thread the last couple days got me to finally order 2 figures and a pair of new feet for each from their website.
I'm so glad they offered those feet and ditched the toe articulation going forward. Also, apologies for spending your money for you like that. What I meant to say was these figures are terrible and you guys shouldn't buy any.

They were just part of a spending spree I went on this weekend (none of it SDCC related items either).

Yeah, the Dungeon set is really cool. I'm thinking of grabbing the dungeon and a set of stands, myself.

They also announced the current stock of wave 2 (human figures) will go up sometime between 6pm-9pm ET on the 1st. They're not giving an exact time. And for the first little while there will be a limit on how much you can get so everyone has a chance. After a certain amount of time that I have also forgotten, you can get as much as you want.

They also said there's more of wave 2 coming from China still. So if you miss out on this release window, there will be another.

Most of the wave 2 stuff is still available at Savage Crucible. Just the Raider pack add-on set sold out last night.

Since I had no luck with the Mustafar set earlier in the day, I ended up picking up Warrior and Krieger and may grab Jaeger and a couple more lizards if they hang around a little while.

I was happy to see they've moved away from the $15 shipping fee and made it more realistic — still not charging any taxes, either. A small bonus these days.

I have one of the lizards, but I don't plan on getting any of wave 2. Wave 3 is what I'm excited for.
