Harvinger Studios, Savage Crucible

I think this is just a case where you got a bad figure (like, specific figure with a specific QC failure, versus it being something widespread).
The good news is that this is a brand new figure. Even if they don't issue replacement parts, Doc should be able to buy a replacement easily.
I wish they wouldn't be fucking vagueposting, if it was supposed to be about Elric they should have said Elric was or would be "entombed" instead of using the lizard savage as the example.
As someone trained in technical writing, it drives me fucking insane. Communicate clearly first. Then add your branding, verbal flourishes, and/or weirdo shit.

I mean to be fair, you did sell like 27 board members on checking out Savage Crucible. They still owe you some kind of finder's fee.
I agree, it's all Damien's fault.

I mean, pick a topic; 'it's all Damien's fault' is my mantra.

As to the issue of more Elric or not, I notice they keep using the term 'figure' but not 'character'. I dunno if that actually means anything legal on the contracts-signing side of things or is just their general-use term in play, but I'd think using 'character' would be more of a guarantee this entire project is one-and-done and now we're on to the other two non-Elric characters to get their one-and-done product.

And which can all instantly turn on a moment if the contracting parties agree to. Unless we can hack their Alexa/FB/Google/Roku/Apple/TikTok/ETC accounts to listen in to their ongoing team conversations nothing any of us say here amounts to much. I'm *real* interested in Moorcock's reaction to the sell-thru. I can't imagine Harvinger signed a contract to give Moorcock any sort of bonus for selling out; but the quickness of it all has to have made an impression and maybe the man wants some bonus money before bowing out. Moorcock's in his 80s/90s now?

One wonders what his heirs will do with the various properties once he's gone.

Oh, you don't have to tell me how under-appreciated I am.
Also, if Harvinger turns out to be a bunch of weirdo techbro douche types, I'm gonna feel really guilty about that and will be insisting we bury any evidence I had anything to do with people buying these.

I would THINK they'd have some stock held back for replacements this soon after a release. Only a moron sells -exactly- the number they made right off the bat.

Kind of weird for you to just show up here and start quoting my daughter.

I think it just leaves the door open. They can say DEFINITIVELY they will not make that specific figure again. But I'm sure they'd like to make more Elrics generally, and you kind of never say never to something like that because Moorcock could always say 'I'd like more money, please.'
In short: Right now the deal with Moorcock is one Elric figure, but Forever is the decision not to re-issue any specific figures.

SC Customer Service hasn't responded to me in 3 days and a decently-priced Krieger showed up on eBay, so I just bought that and will sell the Elric on eBay.

Sorry for being so mercenary, it's not my preferred move, but I'm actually a bit in the hole in terms of my action figure budget at the moment.

Maybe open the door to some folks here. I'm sure someone on the thread who missed it would be willing to pay a sane price to zero the Krieger purchase out for you.

I've done both technical writing and brand/marketing writing. My gut reaction is these posts they're doing break the rules of both. They are vaguebooking masquerading as being super clear, and they use deliberately antagonistic language toward their customers.

There's a really solid 6-7 people who are thanking them for these posts, so it least it's not like the Mythic Legions ballwash brigade.

I paid $99 with shipping for Krieger - I've got my Elric already up on eBay (for...a bit more than that), but I'll offer Elric for the Krieger price to anyone here (with the caveat that he could sell on eBay before you contact me).

But no one ever seemed to express any interest or reach out to me earlier, so I kind of figured no one was really interested.

Yeah fair enough. $99 is still way lower than some of the Elric's I saw when I checked earlier this week. I saw several at $300, which just seemed bananas to me.

So I just got back from vacation last night and caught up to this thread (left on the day of the in stock sale). Holy shit, stuff seems to have gotten a bit intense 😂

Ah well, bummer the sale was a bit of a bust and the AI adds dropped right at the worst possible time. I like the codex thing because it clears up exactly what they mean. I agree that it seems overly dramatic to do it in separate posts. I think they’re trying to drum up some kind of ongoing excitement for the brand by being more active, but I seriously doubt anyone is sitting there thinking “what’s the next codex going to be??? I can’t wait!”.

My honest take is that Rob is a very intelligent dude, but maybe not the most perceptive guy socially. I think he either doesn’t have a general understanding of current collectors mindset, or just doesn’t care or agree with it. After meeting the guy twice, watching live streams and such, I think he is probably just kind of a “my way or the highway” assholey type in general. Which is whatever and all good, I know and love lots of those types of people in my “real” world.

As a grown up kid who loves fantasy and action figures, I’m still excited about their stuff and looking forward to the fish dudes and whatever comes next. Definitely curious on what this red hand thing is going to be!

I hope Moorcock sees those, to understand the pent-up demand for his shit in more than just novel and comics format.
I think if I was an 86 yr old author ebay sales of licensed stuff would not weigh heavily into that decision for a few reasons, but we'll see.

Yeah, and also, it doesn't seem like the photos posted with the terms necessarily match the terms, which itself is minor, but just puts noise back into a communication hat is purporting to clear things up.

I agree that it feels like there's a big swinging-dick attitude underpinning a lot of this communication and I do hope that settles down.

The figures are still good, and that will keep the fire burning, but my enthusiasm about the company has cooled a lot. It's not irrecoverable or anything, but that enthusiasm is not a bottomless well.

This is where I'm at. He was taking -enough- correct (in my view) approaches to things that I had a ton of goodwill built up in my head for the company. Goodwill that they seem intent on eroding as quickly as possible. Doesn't make the toys not good, but eventually the ratio shifts enough that I won't care anymore.

Yeah, I mean all I really ask from a company (or author, or actor, or an RPG company, or a chain restaurant, or whoever) is please don't make me feel like an asshole giving you money. Because there's a lot of competition and not enough money.

So I just got back from a lovely vacation, which made me hold off on shipping my BBTS PoL until I was home to secure the delivery. Timed it up well enough to arrive this afternoon, so I now have Brynyar Vael & Nakara the Undying. They are both very impressive in hand, these figures really do look better in person than in pictures. BUT once again I find myself disappointed by the blind bag weapons! It's not their fault, it is what it is, but I got the same 2 weapons I got with Elric. So it'll be a little while before I can expand on that little side collection. Do we know if these are being included with Death Dealer and/or his horse? I know they said the fishies are back to the weird transparent colored weapons. I just want Excalibur and the really long Ringwraith looking sword!
