Ghostbusters General Thread

It is Ecto Glow Louis Tully and the unreleased Ecto Glow Copter. I thought it was Ecto-2 initially as well.

I saw the tease in the video when they revealed the Ecto Glow line at the Ghostbusters Day in New York. What I didn't know is that the Ecto Glow Copter is actually a repaint of an unproduced Police Academy toy (Crime Mulcher) so they are giving collectors an unproduced toy from two different properties (ok technically not, but hey).

I'm in the U.S. and just received my shipping notice from Mondo. Can't wait to get the figures, but I'm looking forward to the humongous box this set comes in.

My set came in today. I love Samhain and I'm so glad to get the second coolest ghost from the show. The paint on his head looks fantastic and so velvety. Peter is good too and it looks like the proton stream isn't going to be an issue staying attached like the ones from Diamond Select which were the bane of my existence anytime I tried to mess with them. I do wish Slimer's stand was a bit taller to get him up higher rather than so close to the ground.

I was hoping someone would ask them about including more stands for Slimer in future releases. Maybe the Janine figure will have multiples? It would be nice to place him at eye level with the guys.

I finally joined the cool kids club and got a shipping notice. If UPS can be trusted my set will be here Friday.

I was actually just thinking about that Slimer thing this morning. It'd be an easy thing to toss into a future set, and would definitely be nice to have.

Mine's out for delivery, but UPS hasn't been here yet. Glad I made it home from work before they did though.

So a bit ago, I thought I might not open my set, but I folded like a cheap suit, which would be the only cheap thing regarding this review.

Peter looks amazing, both in sculpt and paint. The paint is truly perfect and looks "cartoon". Slimer, while simple, is just fun looking and the paint on him is better than you might think. Heck the paint on getting captured Samhain and the trap is also crazy good. The rest of the accessories are also really well done. I do wish he had a bit more articulation out of habit, but he really does have all he needs. My one complaint is the waist belt for the proton pack rides up. Going to try to heat it and lower it.

While I don't see $101, I would say $70 seems fair for all the stuff he comes with including Slimer.

Samhain - Let's be honest, he's barely more than a slug. True, it has a great sculpt and paint but just 8 POA with 3 heads and 2 sets of hands.

While he looks great, I don't see him being worth more than $35-40.

So while I do think these are vastly overpriced (regardless of the reasons), you can't deny that the sculpt and paint on these are absolutely superb.

EDIT: The heat for the belt worked great.

Hopefully BBTS gets in all those solo Peters before too long. ("gets in all those solo Peters." I didn't......I didn't mean for it to sound that bad, but here we are. My apologies. I'd hate for this to turn into the GI Joe Classifieds thread.)

I'm really hoping that I can get the Winston and Sandman set for a decent price when it comes out... Because Peter and Sam Hain are so good that it's making me kick myself even HARDER for missing that order. Very pleased with how nicely these move and how easily the parts swap and how toony it all looks. There's a few nitpicks for sure, but overall it's crazy to have these finally.
