Generative AI

So he was inspired to not write a book? If he just wants to put something on the shelf he wasn't really responsible for,he should buy one of my books.
He wrote three books on his own. Now he has a robot do it for him, I guess. He says "to check for inconsistencies and offer advice" but man, the last thing I want is a fucking robot telling me what's wrong with my book. Also Claude is BARELY functional as a spell check.

Right? I have a couple of things I ran my first book through for grammar and spelling but my most recent, I did a basic spell check then relied entirely on the three humans who read everything for me.

I guess it's like a no effort vanity project just to have something on the shelf. Like a snap tite, pre painted model kit, but I wouldn't tell people I created a starship.

It sucks that Grammarly got in bed with AI earlier this year - they were a fine program but if they're feeding your work into someone else's algo you're almost better off just using the native spell check on whatever program you're using.

Heh, yes that was one.
Grammarly was legit safe to use for authors til only like six months ago, too, maybe less. I think that's what annoys me - it getting forced in. Like, make it optional, see who pays for it, stop cramming it into everything, especially since usually it breaks a perfectly good product.
