General Toy Nostalgia

I'm in my early 40s and I found my eating habits have mostly only caught up with me because I've spent the last several years now running a company from a desk instead of being out in the field doing the physical work. I imagine if I kept active all day, I wouldn't be struggling to keep that little bit of extra weight off, and would still be able to eat horribly (and boy do I).
I feel this.

The weight isn't horrible. But it isn't great. I have been going to the gym and eating better. Or trying to. And I am one of those genetic freaks where if I commit myself, and go regularly to the gym, I can get in shape in no time. I have gone from moobies to pecs in 3 months time in the past. Legit.

I just really, REALLY love to sit. And pizza.

But the way I have abused my body over the years, my knees and ankles are shot. The way I have always been a floor sitter, who sits criss cross, apple sauce...even at the age of 43...

Walking in the morning getting out of bed is the worst. It takes me a minute to loosen up. Sometimes the knees give out. It's all catching up.

Having read through the last 6 pages of this thread I'm surprised how much of the content is totally new to me. I was aware of maybe 15% of the toys mentioned.

One of my brothers had a red Mantech figure. I thought that was a fun one.
I still have my Starriors figure, I think the wind-up function is broken though.
I gave away my Visionaries figures and that is a line I would abso-fucking-lutely go in on.

I'll gladly be a lame-o then. A skinny mini minty lil nerd. But I can fuck up a box of Samoas too. My mom hates coconut of any sort, which always meant more for me. Samoas, Almond Joy, Mounds. I'm suckin' that shit up like a vacuum.

Apparently there's a new Rocky Road inspired sandwich cookie this year that the girls are offering. If anyone tries any, let me know how they are.

I think the real question is- do ya'll refrigerate your cookies or eat them room temp?
I'm a room temp kind'a guy. AS GOD INTENDED.
But I'll do some fuckin' cookies and ice cold milk ANY day.

Brother.

Yeeeeah. My career blew out my shoulder, elbow, wrist/hand. Two separate work injuries, one major and one very minor, have ruined my hip and opposite knee. And now being on the other side of that stuff, I'm developing carpal tunnel that I'm currently working on reversing with physio.
I can still go. But it definitely hurts more than it did when I was in my 20s, that's for sure.

I've been lucky with the weight gain - it's literally maybe 5-10 pounds extra I'm carrying around and it does spread out a bit so it's not all just sitting as a big gut or anything. Not that I'm trying to body-shame anyone, of course. I just don't want that -for me- as the extra weight feels really weird and unnatural for someone that was skinny for their whole life.
That being said... I'm also not really putting the work in that I should be to trim that 5-10 pounds off. And if I'm not careful it could be 15 pounds of extra weight before too long.

The new cookies are decent. They're no Samoas, but I would definitely eat the last one in the sleeve without asking if anyone else wants it.

The two of you are monsters..........coconut on cookies??? Monsters.
It's called having taste. You probably think mayo is spicy and tacos are too exotic and foreign
I guess that's how I know I was a fat kid, because I liked all the kinds of Girl Scout cookies. Except for those plain ass Trefoils. Truly the saltine cracker of Girl Scout cookies.
Here's the secret with Trefoils: They aren't the main snake, they are the assist snack, you main with a big cup of your preferred warm beverage then dunk the Trefoil or alternatively break them up and sprinkle on ice cream

Only Thin Mints, see above technique about ice cream

Did you miss we mentioned a sleep over with pizza and Batman toys?

But they need some chocolate on them. Now, sprinkling them over ice cream with some of that chocolate shell stuff, now that I could get behind. That'll be my contribution to the sleepover.
psssst....Thin Mints

Who's bringing their copy of Super Street Fighter II for the SNES? I only have a Genesis with Sonic 2.

Sane, well adjusted people can appreciate both Thin Mints and Samoas (or Carmel Delights depending on the supplier) and the fine young ladies in the Girl Scouts will sell you both.

As for toys, the best two classic Batman toy lines are Mego Batman and Batman Animated (Kenner). Pretty much everything else was terrible.

Best I can do is a PS1 with Crash Team Racing and Twisted Metal.
