General Marvel Legends

Was hoping for green Falcon, but that's a fine figure. Debating on whether I care enough to upgrade Constrictor or not. Still prefer the old, evil looking head to the new bland one. That's it for me from these reveals (thankfully).

Not a lot in there for me as a pretty narrow minded X-Men collector. Archangel will be tempting based on the pricing. He looks good enough, though why can't we get flight stands with flying characters? Onslaught is a maybe. I kind of fell out of 90s comics with that arc, but thought the design was neat enough. I'm curious if we see him in X-Men '97 at some point which could have make me want the figure retroactively. A purchase would be a hedge against that impulse. I'll see what the price is and go from there. Not interested in any of the Secret Wars offerings, but found it puzzling that Falcon's bird has a red c-clip when transparent would have made way more sense. Poor little fella looks like he's got a big rod shoved in an uncomfortable place.

...Tons of great stuff, but it's hard not to say that Thor stole the show. Coipel Thor! Finally! Really great sculpt + artic, a good array of accessories (attached flying Mjolnir; lightning effects, hands, etc), a lot of variety with the faceplates/helmet/hair, a cool detail with the behind the back Mjolnir storage and the extra piece to fit there, and Throg. Plus, most excitingly - a wired cape! Finally! Holy moly, he's great...
My only gripe is the face sculpts don't look like Coipel's artwork. The older one actually got his likeness much better. Still, absolutely stoked for this figure. I already have a Throg, but totally stoked to get another. Now I have one for the Pet Avengers shelf and one for the Asgardian shelf.

Love love love seeing classic New Mutants Magik. The colors look so much better than Sunspot! Hasbro, I promise you this is a team that will sell better if you release them in close proximity to each other - casual fans aren't piecing together the X-Men junior team from the 80s over a five year period. Get the whole group out asap!

Odds on them releasing a deluxe Demon Bear on the Grizzly body? It wouldn't be right cause he's not nearly big enough, but I can see it.

You're not wrong. I wonder how much they were trying to capture the likeness? They clearly are in the squareness of his jaw, but nothing else is even close. It seems like they're allergic to artist-specific portraits sometimes - which in general I'm fine with, but here it would have been great. Coipel is the only artist I think of for this version of Thor.

If I were to pick a nit, the facials expressions all look off, but I'm hoping between the three and hat options I can find a combo that works for me.

I also went back and ordered Roberto assuming we won't be getting a "comic" version of him.

My figuring is that they'll release a powered-up Sunspot as the "comic version" of him for building out the New Mutants, making the team technically complete within the comic line ... and then the '97 version is just the only way to get him in his training uniform.

Wondering how they'll do Rahne. Will we get her in wolf-form? How will that look, since it wasn't drawn super consistently? Half-human, or straight-up wolf that can be reused as Lobo? Has ML ever borrowed tooling from Classified? That would be great opportunity to.

The Secret Wars Spider-Man seems like such a waste. Granted, I'm not a huge Spider-Man fan who needs every possible iteration of the character. But a momentary look seems like such a limited use figure. A regular, classic Spider-Man continues to be something buried behind multipacks and exclusivity. So bizarre.

The rest of the Secret Wars wave looks great. While I would have preferred Volcana in this wave, Magik looks great. Can only assume the other New Mutant they hinted at is Cannonball/Cypher based on the heads on Mytique's packaging. Does the yellow on Magik match Sunspot? If not, I don't need to track down Sunspot.

I like the Crossover Quicksilver look. But that Black Widow design is so boring. I don't really need Crossing Avengers figures, though. Why be reminded of such a terrible era?

Maximum Thor is the huge win for me. Looks fantastic. Finally a Maximum I'm interested in. Granted, I'm not eager to pay $50 for a Marvel Legends figure. But this Thor is a winner.

Which one and where from? Throg is about the only thing I want from this reveal.
Here you go:
I'd love an articulated Throg. I'd take a full 6" figure, too. You could basically call it 1:1 scale.

@TFitz convinced me to get this statue:

We both snapped Throg off the base. I have him displayed on his own now. As an added bonus, I gave my wife, a Loki fan, the Loki crocodile for her desk.

Despite being a little disappointed we didn't see any more Hulk stuff, that was an impressive livestream.
Every figure in that Secret Wars wave 2 lineup looks fantastic. Sure, I have a few nitpicks, but that will not be stopping me from procuring all of them, except for maybe Spidey?
I'll be passing on everything else, but damned if everything didn't look amazing.

Cheers to TSI & Benroe; she is soooo long overdue.

The real question is..... is @TheSameIdiot happy with his new Magik figure?

That Daredevil looks fantastic, honestly. And I'm not even a huge DD fan at all. The Muse/Bullseye two-pack looks great. I don't want it, but the deco they went with is... pretty goddamn awesome. Like, I might need to get them just for all the red paint.

I prefer the older comic version of Archangel - but I feel like I am going to need that new one for the big ass Apocalypse I was dumb enough to pre-order.

So anyway guys.....

FUCKING THOR.

LOOK AT THAT FUCKING THOR.

Oh. My God. I want it right now. I will pay the stupid amount of money. I will. I love it.

A lot to unpack...

I liked some stuff, disliked some stuff, but was really indifferent on most of it.

First off, two of the four AT card figures were revealed - Magik and Coipel Thor. Personally, I hope the other 2 reveals will be characters that have never been made, but I'd bet money one of the last two reveals will be Psylocke.

Second - everything revealed was on a rumor/leak list with the exception of Throg. The only miss was the Muse/Bullseye set was rumored as a MCU set, not comic.

Third - feisty Dwight made some very interesting comments.
-Cryptically mentioning right off that he won't be with the line forever (paraphrasing).
-His rant about (paraphrasing) collectors complaining that even if you have just revealed updated figure, somebody else doesn't have that figure yet, so basically shut up.
-The thing with Dwight forgetting the teases - how far away is his office from the studio? That just seemed really odd to me.

Secret Wars:
No Volcana is just a big middle finger.
Falcon is an instant purchase. Absolutely perfect. My favorite reveal of the day. And he's completely classic. Take note Jesse - classic versions are the way to go.
Yes, Dan we want more Serpents.
Absorbing Man is absolutely ridiculous with no displayed powers. He should have been a deluxe in the Hulk wave with a lot of interchangeable limbs.
Magik looks great and I'm so happy her training suit is vibrant yellow as opposed to the muted one Sunspot got in the '97 wave. Hopefully the Cypher reveal will have the same vibrant yellow. The reason Dan gave for including Magik in the wave was hilarious! (Paraphrasing) "Well, she appeared in a panel in Secret Wars II".

Muse/Bullseye 2-pack:
Muse looks awesome. No connection to that Bullseye.
I suppose this is a Pulse only set because of the bloody weapons. If that's the case, bring on more bloody Pulse only 2-packs!

Avengers: The Crossing:
We all know I'm an Avengers guy. Well, I'll be buying this when it goes $15-10. And Black Widow is my favorite Marvel female character!
My whole take on The Crossing figures is they looked at old books to see how cheaply they could get some reuse and voila - here's the Crossing - a storyline so universally disliked, but hey - it's a 90s story, so they have to do that.
When Dan went on about how he likes to use the new Widow Articulated body I literally yelled at my computer screen: "oh yeah? where's Mantis, Diamondback and Colleen Wing?

Onslaught:
Looks good.

X-Men '97 Archangel:
Looks cool for those who want it.

Maximum Thor:
The faces look odd. The stringy hair looks like when I used to roll up play-doh.
Of course Throg is locked in with Thor, just like Doop was with Deadpool.
